Job Description First Year Apprentice Vacancy We are now accepting applications for Apprentice Heavy Vehicle Mechanics for both Bus Éireann and Dublin Bus, with placements starting in September 2026. Opportunities are available in Athlone, Ballina, Cork (Capwell Depot and Tivoli Depot) Dublin, Galway, Limerick, Longford, Stranorlar, Thurles, Tralee, Waterford Garages. Important Application Requirement To ensure your application is processed, you must submit proof of meeting the SOLAS Equivalence Qualifications at the time of application. About the Apprenticeship As a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic Apprentice, you will receive top-tier technical training to maintain and repair modern public service vehicles. You will gain hands-on experience in day-to-day repairs, preventative maintenance, and advanced vehicle diagnostics. The apprenticeship consists of seven phases: three off-the-job training phases designated by SOLAS and four on-the-job training phases with Bus Éireann and Dublin Bus.
