MAIN TASKS:

• Creation, implementation, and analysis of novel dynamic battlefield scenarios.
• Development of an Application Programming Interface (API) for the existing SIMEDIS simulator.
• End-user engagement to create new features for operational use of the Simulator by the Belgian Medical Services.
• Creation of a Graphical User-interface. 
• Use best practices for code development and documentation.
• Writing scientific papers.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

 

• Degree(s) required: Master's degree or PhD in a STEM field (Engineering, Applied Sciences, Physics, Computer Science, or Mathematics).
• Ideally 3-5 years of experience in Modelling and Simulation or a related field.

 

¿MUST HAVE¿ skills:

1. Experience in Constructive Simulation. Ideally with Discrete-Event Simulation (DES).
2. Experience in programming with Julia, C++ or Python.
3. Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established code bases.     
4. Track record of scientific publications and collaboration in multinational teams.     

 

¿NICE TO HAVE¿ skills:      

1. Knowledge of the Military Medical Evacuation Chain.
2. Knowledge and use of GIS platforms (ArcGis, OpenStreetMap).

Specific Requirements

• The researcher will be exposed to classified information and will therefore have to obtain the required security clearance. The candidate must consent with the background check required to obtain this clearance, which will be executed by Belgian Defence.
• Only applicants with a nationality of a country that is part of NATO will be eligible.
• Working for the Patrimony requires living in Belgium for the duration of the study.

Travels throughout the study for workshops and conferences both in/out of the EU are expected.

Contract

• Expected date of recruitment: March, 2026, in consultation with the applicant. 

• Status: Full-time employment (38 hours / week) based on an open-ended contract with the Patrimony of the Royal Military Academy (you will not be a civil servant).

  If needed: 

• Please note that your contract will be open-ended, but the financing of the contract will be tied to the funding project, which is guaranteed until May 31st, 2029. The financing of your contract beyond that period is therefore not 100% guaranteed. However, the Patrimony has a policy to keep the good elements on board and the research focus of this job offer fits within our core research activities, so there is a possibility that we will be able to offer you follow-up projects beyond that date.
• Wage scale: class A1 (holder of a Master's degree in Science or equivalent), class A2 (holder of an Ir degree or equivalent Master's in Engineering Sciences recognized as Ir in Belgium or  doctor's degree in the same area of expertise). RMA-Patrimony applies a merit-based research career track, allowing researchers to advance in wage scale based upon annual evaluations.

• Netwerken in Brussel: bouw bruggen met sociale, culturele en vrijetijdsorganisaties zodat onze jongeren maximaal profiteren van het ruime Brusselse aanbod. Je geeft hierin het voorbeeld en kijkt verder dan de muren van De Rijtak.

En tant que Webmaster, vous êtes responsable de la gestion et de l'optimisation de nos plates-formes digitales, en veillant à ce que nos visiteurs bénéficient d'une expérience utilisateur sans faille. Vous jouez un rôle déterminant dans le renforcement de notre présence en ligne. Vous travaillez en étroite collaboration avec les équipes Content et Marketing pour veiller à ce que notre site web et notre webshop fonctionnent de manière optimale et répondent aux besoins de nos visiteurs. Vous êtes co-responsable de la réalisation, de l'exhaustivité et de la conception de notre site bozar.be, vous surveillez son fonctionnement et solutionnez les problèmes techniques.

 

Tâches et responsabilités:

• Premier point de contact: Vous agissez en tant que force motrice pour dynamiser le site web. En interne, vous êtes le premier point de contact pour le site web et vous analysez les souhaits et les exigences des (futures) fonctionnalités. Vous travaillerez également en étroite collaboration avec les fournisseurs externes chargés de la maintenance et du développement du site web et du système de ticketing. En concertation, vous élaborez la planification annuelle en tenant compte des ressources nécessaires.
• Fonctionnalité et Performance du site web :  vous êtes responsable du développement, de la maintenance, de la performance technique, du testing de nouvelles fonctionnalités, de la gestion des bugs et de la sécurité du site web, en collaboration avec le développeur externe du site web et le développeur du webshop. 
• Expérience utilisateur (UX) : vous recherchez et formulez des propositions pour une structure de navigation conviviale et intuitive.
• Content Management: Vous soutenez les copywriters et les collaborateurs.trices de la communication dans la mise en ligne du contenu de manière appropriée. Pour ce faire, vous organisez des workshops de formation, des tutoriels vidéo, ... Vous surveillez également le positionnement SEO et conseillez le Team Content.
• Analyser et Optimiser: vous utilisez des outils analytiques et des tests A/B pour suivre le comportement des visiteurs et apporter des améliorations.
• Rapportage: vous assurez le suivi des statistiques en temps réel du site web et vous partagez vos observations avec l'équipe afin d'accroître la portée du contenu digital de Bozar.
• Projets digitaux: Vous soutenez le Département Marketing & Communication dans le cadre de projets digitaux. Vous aimez rechercher différents outils web qui peuvent aider les copywriters. L'intégration de ces outils dans le site web ne vous pose aucun problème.

• Vous avez au minimum une formation de bachelier et minimum 5 ans d'expérience dans le développement et la gestion de site Internet.
• Vous avez la maitrise des systèmes CRM/ERP et CMS (Drupal) courants
• Vous avez de l'expérience en Drupal (customisation, API, modules, backend & frontend)
• Vous avez de bonnes connaissances en HTML et CSS et des notions de Javascript et de Jquery

• Je ontwikkelt, implementeert en monitort een impactgerichte marketing- en communicatie- en wervingsstrategiestrategie in lijn met het beleidsplan.
• Je werkt aan een sterke profilering via verschillende kanalen om onze organisatie, projecten en campagnes maximaal zichtbaar te maken bij doelgroepen en/of in de markt te zetten.

Imago en campagnes opzetten :

• Je zet campagnes om in resultaten. Bij Raak combineer je branding en marketing om actief deelnemers, leden, vrijwilligers en nieuwe groepen te werven. Je zorgt er niet alleen voor dat de boodschap gezien en gevoeld wordt, maar ook dat plaatselijke vrijwilligers de campagnes omarmen en er actief mee aan de slag gaan. 
• Je monitort de effectiviteit van campagnes en presenteert resultaten en aanbevelingen aan collega's en beleidsvrijwilligers.

Media en pers betrekken :

• Je beheert de algehele PR-strategie (print, radio, tv), bouwt persrelaties uit, identificeert opportuniteiten voor persberichten en monitort wat er over ons verschijnt in de media.

Sociale media verzorgen :

• Je bepaalt onze social mediastrategie en op welke kanalen we actief moeten zijn. Je stelt, in samenwerking met je collega-communicatiemedewerker, een redactieschema op voor de verschillende platformen.

• Je kent het verenigingsleven door en door en weet als geen ander hoe je vrijwilligers betrekt en activeert om bij te dragen aan onze doelen.
