º Lead the development of a novel high-turbulence experimental facility to reproduce

º Apply aerosol measurement techniques to quantify the emission of micro- and

nanoplastics across a wide range of turbulence intensities

The Institute for Solar Physics (KIS, Freiburg, Germany) invites applications for a two-year  postdoctoral position (m/w/d)  on the development of fast spectro-polarimetric (Stokes) inversion techniques.  The goal of the project is to optimize existing Stokes inversion codes using graphical processing units (GPUs) and machine-learning (ML) algorithms, substantially increasing the speed at which spectropolarimetric data can be analyzed and enabling near-real-time processing and interpretation.  The project is based on preliminary work at KIS that shows the feasibility of this approach. The final goal is to extend the resulting code to a range of instruments, prioritizing those at GREGOR and the VTF at DKIST. Qualifications: Applicants should hold a PhD in physics, astrophysics, applied mathematics, or a related field. Experience with radiative transfer and/or Stokes inversion techniques is highly desirable, and prior work with spectropolarimetric observations is an advantage. Familiarity with GPU programming (e.g., CUDA) and machine-learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) is also considered a plus. The offer: The contract is for a period of 2 years. Stellenbeschreibung

We are currently looking for a motivated Administrative Officer for 3 datacenters of a well-known global client in Vienna & Schwechat

Serve as the principal assistant to the Security Team Manager in providing security services and related operations to the data center.

* Serve as the primary point of contact to data center Management and security personnel with the Security Team Manager is unavailable.

* Assist with training and certification for all new security personnel at the request of the Field TrainingOfficer and maintain required training documentation at the data center.

* Ensure all security personnel adhere to policies and Standard Operations Procedures.

* Act as Screener, Screening Supervisor, Responder or Control Room Supervisor in periods of increased activity or in the case of absent staff.

* Maintain and troubleshoot on-site security technology.

* Assist with scheduling, site equipment inspections, and audit compliance at the datacenter and potentially sister sites as needed.

* Conduct recurring audits and prepare and submit critical and confidential information directly to client management team.

* Maintain required security documentation, ensuring accuracy in accordance with established policies and procedures.

* Identify security shortfalls and offer suggestions from improving the security program.

* Evaluate and escalate potential safety issues within the facility.

Qualifikationen

* Legal age: 18 years

* No criminal record

* Work permit for Austria (freier Zugang zum österreichischen Arbeitsmarkt)

* Excellent written and spoken English skills & very good German skills

* Drivers licence B

* Associate degree and 4 or more years of responsible experience in the security industry and/or business management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

* MS Office Skills

* Working knowledge with security technologies (CCTV, access control systems, incident management software, etc.)

* Willingness to travel abroad

* Experience with working in a datacenter environment is a plus

For this position, we offer a minimum salary of € 3.300 gross per month (based on full-time employment, including 20-hour-overtime rate). Depending on qualifications and professional experience, there is a willingness to overpay.
