As a Senior Java Developer, you will help build reliable, scalable software that directly supports the quality and continuity of digital services. You’ll work on complex backend solutions, contribute to technical decision-making, and help the team deliver robust systems.
This role combines hands-on development with senior-level input in collaboration, quality, and technical direction. In this part-time position, you will make an impact on architecture, performance, and maintainability, while also supporting other developers in their growth.

## Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Java backend functionality with a strong focus on scalability and reliability
- Translate business and functional needs into technical solutions while safeguarding technical quality
- Enhance the performance, security, and maintainability of existing applications
- Collaborate with product, QA, and other developers to deliver solutions on time and with care
- Review colleagues’ code and coach team members on best practices
- Identify technical risks and actively contribute to architectural decisions
## Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience as a Java Developer or in a similar backend role
- Solid knowledge of Java and common backend principles
- Experience with REST APIs, data modelling, and relational databases
- Familiarity with software testing, code reviews, and CI/CD practices
- Good command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written
- HBO or WO level of thinking, preferably in Computer Science or a comparable field
## Nice to have
- Experience with Spring Boot
- Knowledge of cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
