You'll act as the first point of contact for partners, fee earners and employees in Brussels and Luxembourg, providing trusted HR advice and will play a key role in shaping and executing HR strategy for these offices in collaboration with the Head of HR - London.
Responsibilities/Duties
• Lead the development, implementation, and refinement of HR policies and procedures in compliance with local employment law.
• Collaborate with HR leaders globally to promote a “One Firm” culture and strategic alignment across jurisdictions.
• Partner with the Head of HR - London to develop and execute the HR strategy, supporting business growth and firm culture.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to partners and leaders, providing proactive HR guidance and insight.
• Support recruitment efforts in collaboration with the London-based recruitment team.
• Manage the full employee lifecycle locally, including onboarding, engagement, retention, and offboarding.
• Drive the performance management process, promoting continuous feedback, coaching, and professional development.
• Analyse performance review outcomes, identify key themes, and inform talent and development strategies.
• Partner with the Learning & Development team to identify and deliver training initiatives that enhance leadership capability and professional growth.
• Design and implement recognition and engagement programs that strengthen the firm's culture and reinforce career progression pathways.
• Manage employee relations with professionalism and discretion, engaging external counsel as appropriate to ensure compliance and fairness.
• Oversee benefits management and contribute to annual salary and bonus reviews, ensuring equity and alignment with firm policy.
• Manage the relationship with the outsourced payroll provider to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
Required Skills
• 7+ years of experience in HR, ideally within a professional services or multinational environment.
• Strong knowledge of Luxembourg and Belgian employment law and HR best practices.
• Proven ability to partner with senior leadership and partners as a trusted HR advisor.
• Experience in building and aligning HR strategies across multiple jurisdictions.
• Skilled in performance management, employee relations, and HR project delivery.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with fluency in English.
• Demonstrated ability to balance hands-on HR operations with forward-looking strategic initiatives.
• Collaborative mindset, adaptable, and comfortable working in a dynamic, evolving environment.
• Understands the importance of client and Firm confidentiality and acts with discretion and diplomacy at all times.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Analytical and can use data to present information clearly.
