About the job

As part of the global IT department and in collaboration with programs and operations, your main duties and responsibilities will be:

 

AI solution design & delivery

  • Translate business and operational needs into AI‑enabled solutions (AI for productivity eg. document processing, language services, knowledge search or applied AI for projects and applications).

  • Design and implement AI systems to harness the data we collect from projects and project innovation

  • Integrate AI solutions into existing platforms and workflows (e.g. case management systems, collaboration tools, data platforms).

Collaboration & enablement

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to have:

  • A master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, including strong hands-on work in full-stack development, enterprise platforms or AI solutions

  • Experience building and deploying generative AI applications

  • Knowledge of Copilot or integration of other productivity AI tools with Microsoft suite

Moreover, we also expect the following:

  • Strong experience with Python and AI/ML frameworks or AI APIs.

  • Practical experience building and deploying AI solutions (not only experimentation).

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. Azure), preferably using managed AI services.

Project description

Do you want to contribute to the challenging task of prioritizing in health care? Both PhD projects will address the prioritization of health care and the elicitation of citizens’ preferences through robust quantitative research. One of the projects employs causal inference methods to identify the implications of drug shortages and supply security, while both projects leverage advanced stated preference methodologies.

 

PhD Project 1: 

  • Identification and quantification of the consequences of medical disruptions for patient health and health system performance using causal inference approaches.

  • Elicitation of citizens’ valuations of supply security employing appropriately designed stated preference methods.

 

PhD Project 2: 

  •  Elicitation of citizens’ valuations of health improvements employing appropriately designed stated preference methods.

  • Elicitation of efficiency-equity trade-offs

  • Identifying the importance of altruism in shaping citizens’ preference

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in economics, health economics, data science, public health, or a related field

  • Strong proficiency in quantitative methods, including statistical analysis and econometrics

  • Experience with survey design and preference elicitation techniques is an advantage

  • Familiarity with causal inference methods and/or health care data analysis is desirable

  • Excellent written and spoken English

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary research team

About CPPEM, the Department and the Faculty of Health Sciences

The position is placed within CPPEM, which is a highly motivated research unit that performs research within pharmacology and environmental medicine. The research areas of CPPEM span from pharmacoepidemiology to clinical studies and cell-based basic pharmacology and environmental medicine. Collectively, CPPEM has a strong background in exposure to environmental chemicals, pharmacoepidemiology, pharmacogenetics, pharmacokinetics, drug-drug interactions and therapeutic drug monitoring. Specifically, the pharmacoepidemiological research group utilizes the world-class Danish registries as well as international data sources to assess pharmacological questions in large populations. The translational pharmacology group aims to understand variability in drug toxicity, drug metabolism and drug transport. Examples of this include cell-based models such as induced-pluripotent stem cells, primary human hepatocytes and clinical studies. The environmental medicine group study the impact of early life exposures to environmental chemicals. In particularly per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) is a focus area, with studies of the adverse health effects of exposure, biomonitoring and advising national and international authorities. The analytical chemistry laboratory unit specializes in quantitative analysis of pharmaceuticals and environmental chemicals in various matrices.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be working with data‑driven analyses in epidemiological projects in the multidisciplinary team at the Danish Twin Registry and the Danish Aging Research Center. The team comprises epidemiologists, geneticists, clinicians, mathematicians, biostatisticians, and database managers. The work will include

  • Structuring and quality assurance of large health-related datasets

  • Developing scripts and analysis workflows, including ensuring transparency in the process

Qualifications

MHPSS Officer

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is the world’s largest volunteer-based humanitarian network. The IFRC is served by a Secretariat based in Geneva, with regional and country offices throughout the world.

Along with Red Cross Red Crescent (RCRC) National Societies and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the IFRC is part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. The overall aim of the IFRC is to inspire, encourage, facilitate, and promote humanitarian activities by National Societies to prevent and alleviate human suffering and thereby contributing to the maintenance and promotion of human dignity and peace in the world.

The IFRC is committed to scaling up and addressing the Mental Health and Psychosocial support needs at all times including due to the consequences of armed conflicts, natural disasters and other emergencies. The MHPSS Officer will work in close collaboration with the IFRC Health and Care Department and the Movement MHPSS hub, supporting the Lead, Health Security and Community Resilience (IFRC Secretariat MHPSS Focal Point), primarily to ensure that the overall strategic direction and operationalisation of MHPSS initiatives are achieved and well-coordinated internally with RCRC National Societies, relevant IFRC departments and teams, ICRC and externally with WHO and other key actors.

The MHPSS officer reports to the Global Lead, Health Security and Resilience Team in the IFRC Health and Care Department.

Key responsibilities include

  • Strengthen global and regional IFRC emergency response systems, including National Societies and IFRC preparedness initiatives, in close collaboration with the Movement MHPSS hub and IFRC Regional Offices.
  • Manage the global IFRC MHPSS roster, including calls for applications if needed.
  • Facilitate the integration of MHPSS into emergency responses by providing guidance documents and conducting webinars for IFRC cluster/country delegations.
  • Map and regularly update the status of MHPSS work across National Societies (NS) and IFRC offices. 
  • In close collaboration with NS, identify priorities, achievements, challenges, needs, and opportunities to strengthen their programmes and services.
  • Collaborate with IFRC regional colleagues and the MHPSS Hub to harmonise MHPSS guidance and approaches, ensuring consistency across regions and facilitate capacity strengthening of NS staff and volunteers to develop, implement, and scale MHPSS programs effectively at the community levels. 
  • Provide technical support to IFRC Regional MHPSS colleagues and National Societies’ programmes and services to support piloting, implementation, and scaling up MHPSS interventions.
  • Contribute to identifying and engaging with potential donors and partners for resource mobilization and preparing project proposals and documents for IFRC and NS.
  • Participate and contribute to emergency Task Force meetings in Geneva for MHPSS related components in different emergencies.
  • Strengthen close professional partnerships with, and position IFRC among, key stakeholders in MHPSS at global and international levels.
  • Liaise with the IFRC representatives to the UN providing information on MHPSS to ensure MHPSS is on the global agenda and promote the Movement as a key player within MHPSS and other internal and external bodies/partners promoting the Movement MHPSS. 

Experience and qualifications

  • Relevant academic degree in psychology or psychiatry or Master’s degree in public health or other relevant disciplines.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in implementing MHPSS programmes in a humanitarian organisation.
  • Strong experience of working in a large humanitarian organisation with multi-actor coordination experience.
  • Strong knowledge of RCRC Movement MHPSS capacities, policies, tools, and practices.
  • A minimum of 5 years mission/field-based experience in disaster/post-disaster environments, preferably from multiple regions; previous IFRC deployments desirable.
  • Excellent communication, coordination as well as networking and facilitation skills.
  • Proven experience of building the capacity of local partners, including training skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of public mental health and Psychosocial approaches and Integrated MHPSS interventions models in promotion/prevention and treatments at primary and secondary health care level.
  • Emergency roster development and management experience preferred.
  • Fluency in English, and good command of another IFRC official language (Arabic, French, Spanish)

Employment Conditions

The position is based in Geneva, Switzerland and is initially for 12 months with the possibility of extension. The starting date is 1 August 2026 or as soon thereafter as possible. There is a 3-month probationary period.

The salary including all allowances and pension payment will be between DKK 52,000 and DKK 55,000 per month depending on qualifications and experience. 

Travelling is expected for up to 3 months per year upon request of line manager.
