About the position

The maritime industry faces increasing demands for safe and efficient operations due to growing traffic, more complex vessels, and higher safety requirements. Simulator-based training is essential for preparing maritime professionals, but it relies heavily on experienced human instructors, whose availability is limited.

Recent advances in artificial intelligence, especially large language models (LLMs), enable the development of interactive AI agents that can support human learning in complex, safety-critical environments. Human-centered AI in this project means that the agent will learn from simulator data and expert knowledge, and will be designed to work collaboratively with trainees and instructors rather than replacing them. The AI agents will leverage LLMs for knowledge acquisition, natural language interaction, and decision support, while integrating simulator data and multimodal inputs to provide timely guidance, feedback, and post-training analysis.

This PhD project aims to develop human-centered interactive AI agents for maritime simulator training. The research will investigate how LLM-driven agents can perceive and interpret dynamic maritime environments, collaborate with human trainees during simulator sessions, provide transparent explanations for their actions, and adapt their support to individual training needs

Duties of the position

• Complete the doctoral education until obtaining a doctorate
• Set up research plans with the help of the supervision team and conduct them accordingly
• Academic publications and popular science dissemination
• Take lead in research idea generation and research paper writing
• Collaborate closely with other PhD candidates and project partners to share knowledge, integrate findings, and coordinate research activities
• Participate in international activities such as conferences and/or research stays at foreign educational institutions

Required selection criteria

• You must have a relevant Master's degree in computer science, automation, maritime-related engineering or equivalent. Your course of study must correspond to a five-year Norwegian course, where 120 credits have been obtained at master's level. Master students can apply, but the master's degree must be obtained and documented before starting the position.
• You must have a strong academic background from your previous studies and have an average grade from your Master's degree study, or equivalent education, which is equal to B or better compared to NTNU's grading scale. If you do not have letter grades from previous studies, you must have an equally good academic foundation. If you have a weaker grade background, you maybe considered if you can document that you are particularly suitable for a PhD education.
• You must meet the requirements for admission to the faculty's Doctoral Programme in Engineering

Salary and conditions

In the position of PhD Candidate, code 1017, your gross salary will normally be NOK 550 800,-per annum depending on qualifications and seniority. A 2% statutory contribution to the State Pension Fund is deducted from the salary. 

The employment period is 3 years.

For employment as a PhD Candidate, it is a prerequisite that you gain admission to the PhD programme in Engineering within three months of your employment contract start date, and that you participate in an organized doctoral programme through out the period of employment.

Over de functie

Als Projectverantwoordelijke schilderwerken maak je deel uit van het team Klus & Renovatie. Binnen deze werking neem je de verantwoordelijkheid op voor het onderdeel schilderwerken. Je staat in voor de organisatie, opvolging en verdere uitbouw van de schilderopdrachten en zorgt ervoor dat deze veilig, kwalitatief en efficiënt worden uitgevoerd.

Je combineert je technische expertise in schilderwerken met een sterke organisatorische en begeleidende rol. Je bent regelmatig aanwezig op de werkvloer om opdrachten op te volgen, technische ondersteuning te bieden en voeling te houden met de medewerkers en de uitvoering. Daarnaast neem je een belangrijk deel van je tijd administratieve en coördinerende taken op, zoals planning, klantenopvolging, offertes, nacalculaties en personeelsbegeleiding.

Je werkt nauw samen met de Projectcoördinator, Ploegverantwoordelijken en Coach binnen Klus & Renovatie. Je bent het aanspreekpunt voor de klanten waarvoor je de schilderopdrachten opvolgt en vertegenwoordigt Werkmmaat professioneel naar de klant.

Wat ga je doen?

• Je coördineert de dagelijkse werking van de schilderploegen en zorgt voor een goede planning van opdrachten, medewerkers en materiaal.
• Je volgt schilderopdrachten op, zowel op de werkvloer als administratief, en bewaakt kwaliteit, veiligheid, timing en afspraken.
• Je bent technisch aanspreekpunt voor de schilderwerken. Je schat werkzaamheden in, geeft technisch advies, ondersteunt de ploegen en zoekt oplossingen voor technische of praktische problemen.
• Je bent regelmatig aanwezig op de werkvloer om de uitvoering van de schilderwerken op te volgen en medewerkers technisch te ondersteunen.
• Je staat in voor het naleven van het veiligheids- en preventiebeleid binnen de schilderwerking. Je werkt mee aan veiligheidsinstructies en procedures, verzorgt toolboxen en voert veiligheidscontroles uit.
• Je volgt arbeidsongevallen correct op en werkt hiervoor samen met de betrokken collega's.
• Je volgt het ontwikkelpad van medewerkers op, implementeert inwerkingstrajecten en voert POP-, ondersteunings- en evaluatiegesprekken.
• Je bent aanspreekpunt voor ziektemeldingen en volgt het verzuim binnen de betrokken teams mee op.
• Je voorziet of organiseert opleidingen die aansluiten bij de noden van de schilderwerking.

Als diagnosetechnieker ben jij dé technische specialist binnen onze werkplaats.

· Het stellen van diagnoses aan mechanische, elektrische, hydraulische, elektronische en pneumatische storingen.

· Het werken met moderne diagnoseapparatuur en fabriek specifieke software.

Als Assistant Stage Manager maak je deel uit van het technische team van Stadsschouwburg Antwerpen. Je ondersteunt de Production Manager en de Stage Managers tijdens de voorbereiding en uitvoering van uiteenlopende producties. Word jij onze nieuwe Psychologisch Consulent of Klinisch Psycholoog in het netwerk activeringstrajecten voor CGG VAGGA?

Bij VAGGA bouwen we elke dag aan toegankelijke en kwaliteitsvolle geestelijke gezondheidszorg. We begeleiden kinderen, jongeren en volwassenen met ernstige psychische problemen — en hun omgeving — met een warme, professionele aanpak.

Sinds 2010 participeert CGG VAGGA aan het netwerk activeringstrajecten. Hierin nemen we samen met GTB, Groep Intro, PSC De Keerkring en verschillende welzijnspartners uit de regio een opdracht op van VDAB voor de doelgroep langdurig werkloze personen met een GGZ-problematiek. Als GGZ-partner staan wij in voor probleemverkenning, diagnostiek en begeleiding van cliënten die omwille van ernstige GGZ-problematieken geen aansluiting vinden bij het normale arbeidscircuit.

Voor het opnemen van deze opdracht zoeken we een psychologisch consulent of een klinisch psycholoog in een deeltijds contract van onbepaalde duur van 19u per week.

Jouw opdracht:

• Je brengt hulpvragen en problematiek van cliënt in kaart via diagnostiek en indicatiestelling
• Je werkt een passend zorgtraject uit met het oog op re-integratie op de arbeidsmarkt en je biedt zelf psychotherapie of psychosociale begeleiding aan cliënten en hun netwerk.
• Je werkt nauw samen met de andere hulpverleners uit het netwerk.
• Je zorgt voor heldere verslaggeving.

Jouw profiel:

Je bent iemand die zowel zelfstandig als in team floreert en die energie haalt uit werken met een diverse doelgroep.

Je beschikt over:

• Een opleiding Professionele Bachelor Toegepaste Psychologie of een Master in de Klinische Psychologie
• Voortgezette vorming aansluitend bij de specifieke opdrachten.
• Kennis van psychopathologie en ervaring met psychodiagnostiek.
• Affiniteit met geestelijke gezondheidszorg en/of activeringstrajecten.

Je bent bovendien:

• cliëntgericht en vraaggestuurd
• communicatief sterk en sociaal vaardig
• organisatorisch onderlegd
• bereid om één avond per week te werken (17u–20u)
