MAIN TASKS:
- Design and Development of the Experimental Test Rig:
- Develop a novel blast-testing setup capable of applying combined axial load and lateral blast loading on vertically oriented RC columns.
- Ensure realistic boundary conditions (fixed, pinned) and controllability of axial load levels.
- Integrate safety systems and repeatable blast generation mechanisms.
- Material Characterization and Specimen Preparation:
- Design and fabricate representative RC column specimens with varying: Reinforcement ratios, Concrete strengths, Confinement details
- Instrumentation and Advanced Measurement Integration
- Implement Digital Image Correlation (DIC) for full-field deformation tracking.
- Install high-speed sensors, including: Pressure gauges, Accelerometers, Strain gauges
- Synchronize data acquisition systems for capturing transient blast effects.
- Parametric Experimental Campaign
- Perform a systematic testing program varying: Axial load ratios (e.g., 0-60% of capacity), Blast intensity (scaled charge distance), Column geometry and reinforcement schemes
- Evaluate failure modes, residual capacity, and damage evolution.
- Numerical Modeling and Validation
- Develop high-fidelity finite element models (e.g., LS-DYNA, ABAQUS) capturing: Material strain-rate effects, Blast wave interaction,...
- Validate models against experimental results to enable predictive simulations beyond tested scenarios.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Degree(s) required: Master's degree or PhD in Engineering (Applied Sciences, Engineering Sciences) in the field of Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- The researcher may be exposed to classified information and will therefore have to obtain the required security clearance. The candidate must consent with the background check required to obtain this clearance, which will be executed by Belgian Defense.

- Working for the Patrimony requires living in Belgium for the duration of the study.
CONTRACT
- Probable date of recruitment: From 1st September 2026, in consultation with the applicant.
Status: Full-time employment based on an open-ended contract with the Patrimony of the Royal Military Academy (you will not be a civil servant).
Please note that your contract will be open-ended, but the financing of the contract will be tied to the funding project, which is guaranteed for 4 years. However, the Patrimony has a policy to keep the good elements on board and the research focus of this job offer fits within our core research activities, so there is a high chance that we will be able to offer you follow-up projects beyond that date if you decide to stay.

Le gestionnaire locatif s'occupe de la liste des candidats locataires, de la gestion locative d'une partie des sous locataires du parc immobilier de l'AIS-SVK Jette et a le rôle de back up en absence de l'assistant social. Les tâches, les missions, les responsabilités liées à la fonction sont :
Dossiers candidats locataires : Inscription et gestion
- Via des contacts téléphoniques ou informatiques, effectuer des prises de rendez-vous fixés à l'AIS-SVK Jette dans la cadre d'un public éloigné du numérique
- Via la plateforme numérique, encoder les informations et documents nécessaires à la constitution du dossier de chaque candidat (pour le public éloigné du numérique)

- Encoder dans HMS le dossier du candidat locataire
- Informer les candidats locataire de l'évolution de leur dossier
- Effectuer l'organisation des visites de logements avec les candidats-locataires
- Contribuer à la préparation, la sélection de dossiers et l'organisation du comité d'attribution
Dossiers locataires : entrée en location
- Effectuer le remplissage de la fiche de présentation pour la location
- Effectuer la visite du logement aux candidats locataires
- Rédiger un courrier (ou un courriel) à la personne concernée lorsqu'il accepte ou refuse un logement (sur base de la fiche de visite pour la présentation de location)
- Veiller à l'engagement écrit du candidat-locataire pour la constitution des garanties locatives financières ou autres type de garanties et vérifier les éléments administratifs exigés dans le dossier avant la signature du contrat de bail
- Veiller à la bonne réalisation de toutes les tâches administratives liées à cette démarche (état des lieux d'entrée des sous locataires (signer les ordres de mission), remise des clés, archivage numérique)
- Encoder dans HMS le dossier du sous locataire (tout le parc)
Dossiers locataires : accompagnement, visites à domicile et fin de bail
- Effectuer la visite des nouveaux sous-locataires (éventuellement avec le partenaire) lors de la visite après 6 mois et 18 mois pour informer de leurs devoirs et l'éducation au logement. Une attention particulière est portée au comportement locatif, au bon entretien du logement et aux défectuosités du logement. Un compte - rendu par courriel de la visite est réalisé et communiqué aux membres de l'équipe.
- Conseiller les locataires et les sous-locataires pour éviter le gaspillage de l'énergie
- Récolter à temps annuellement les documents nécessaires auprès des locataires (preuves de revenus, compositions de ménage...),
- Effectuer une visite préalable du logement en cas de vente ou accompagner si nécessaire le sous- locataire lors des visites des candidats propriétaires
- Communiquer l'acte de décès du sous-locataire au Directeur
- Contribuer aux réunions concernant la convention de fin de bail avec le sous locataire
- Contribuer aux réunions avec les partenaires
- Contribuer et mettre à jour l'outil de suivi des incidents sociaux (tout le parc)
- Effectuer l'implémentation des nouvelles procédures dans les tâches qui lui incombent, si nécessaire après formation.
Le profil recherché :
- Diplôme niveau bachelier à orientation gestion immobilière, ou en sciences humaines, ou en sciences sociales, ou juridique, ou assistant social avec une expérience de 2 années
- Très bonne maîtrise du français, à l'oral et à l'écrit
- Connaissance d'une seconde langue est un plus
- Connaissance et usage actif des logiciels de bureautique

PROJECT
You work within the department of CISS (Communication, Information, Systems and Sensors) of the RMA and in close collaboration with National Geographic Institute (NGI-IGN). You conduct scientific research at university level on a project entitled `SIGMA (Signal Interference - GNSS-Network Monitoring and Analysis'.
Position: Geo-Intelligence Researcher/Engineer
About the Role We are seeking an expert to lead the development of a GNSS interference detection system. This project is vital for protecting L-band frequencies used in defense and critical infrastructure.
Core Objectives
- Build: A high-throughput GNSS data collection and processing pipeline.
- Detect: Develop dual-axis detection algorithms (signal-based and coordinate-based) to identify jamming and anomalies.
- Correlate: Create a multi-station network module to analyze interference patterns across a sensor grid.
- Classify: Implement identification/classification methods for detected threats.
- Visualize: Design a real-time dashboard and API for immediate threat alerting.
- Validate: Perform system validation and establish operational standards.
Impact Your contributions will secure the navigation signals that underpin national defense, economic stability, and civilian safety.
Team & Collaboration You will join a specialized team of experts in geodesy and navigation, providing you with immediate access to deep technical support and mentorship. A key strategic partner in this initiative is the National Geographic Institute (NGI-IGN), which will provide critical expertise and direct access to national GNSS networks and proprietary data sources.
Key Responsibilities
- Innovation in Interference Detection: Research, design, and implement advanced methodologies to identify and classify GNSS interference, jamming, and spoofing events.
- Tool Development: Engineer a monitoring and alerting system capable of detecting GNSS signal degradation or denial in real-time, ensuring user safety and data integrity.
