GOglobal Finance Graduate Trainee Program
This 2-year General Finance graduate program targets you as an outstanding Master student. It offers you a wide array of opportunities and experiences to prepare you for future roles within the Merck Finance organization. The program encompasses rotations across Finance functions and ensures continuous learning. This includes international assignments, mentoring and formal training resulting in your personal and professional development.
Your role:
During your 24-month rotation plan, you will get to know multiple facets of Finance and build a strong company-wide network. In the first 15 months at our headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany, you will experience different Finance areas with a focus on Controlling, Accounting and Reporting. You will deepen your understanding of the business, learn Finance tools and processes, and get to know the requirements of the Finance function. In addition to supporting daily business, you will also take ownership for high impact projects within Finance with direct senior management interactions.
In the subsequent nine-month assignment in one of our entities abroad (e.g. China, Taiwan or South Korea), you will be assigned to our Country Finance organization. As a member of the local team, you will be responsible for processes and projects within different local Finance functions to enhance your Finance expertise and to further develop business acumen as well as cross-cultural competences.
After successfully completing the program, you will move into an exciting role within the Group Finance organization in Germany or abroad, taking into consideration your interest and career aspirations, professional development opportunities, as well as business needs.
In addition, during the program you will participate in a comprehensive training curriculum focused on improving your hard- and soft-skills and will receive continuous mentoring.
The assessment center will take pla ce in mid-November 2026. The program starts in March 2027 off ering a permanent contract.
Who you are:
- PhD or Master's degree (or equivalent) in Finance/Business Studies or Industrial Engineering/ Business Informatics with a focus on Corporate Finance, Accounting or Controlling with outstanding academic performance.
- Up to 2 years of hands-on Finance experience (Accounting or Financial Controlling) obtained through international assignments or Working Student roles. Strong candidates with domestic experience plus significant international academic exposure (e.g., study abroad) are equally encouraged to apply.
- Sound financial knowledge and analytical skills.
- High proficiency with digital tools and willingness to emb new technologies; prior touchpoints to Finance digitization, data science and/or business intelligence are a plus.
- Profound knowledge of MS Office; SAP, TM-1 and Tableau skills are a plus.
- Fluency in Business English, plus a second language.
- High learning agility and curiosity to problem solving. Team-player with strong presentation, communication, and networking skills.
- Extracurricular activities are a plus.

Calibration/Test Engineer (f/m/d) in SWI Ground Reference Model
This scientific support/technical position, as part of the Planetary Atmospheres research group and the (Submillimetre Wave Instrument) SWI project in particular, offers a unique opportunity to engage in the technical aspects of space research in the context of a state-of-the-art space mission. We are looking for a candidate with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
We are seeking a dedicated engineer to join our team, focusing on the development of the SWI ground reference model, particularly the calibration data analysis of the SWI different models including the PFM and FS receivers front-end. In this role, you will not only engage with the calibration data analysis but also provide valuable support and expertise in the required test set up, and calibration concepts to be development aligned with the SWI ground reference model objectives.
Your Tasks
- Perform RF simulations using tools like MATLAB/Simulink and Keysight ADS
- Data analysis of SWI PFM and FS receiver unit
- Supporting lab activities in test set up and test execution for the SWI EM receiver unit
- Supporting lab activities and concept development for the SWI ground reference model focusing on the receiver unit front-end
- Contribution to the technical meetings and reporting
- Documentation and archiving the test results and performed modellings and analysis
Your Qualification
- A M.Sc. in physics or aerospace, electronic/RF engineering
- A solid Python and C programming skill
- A solid background using MATLAB/Simulink, Keysight ADS
- Experience in characterization of Schottky diode used in heterodyne THz receivers
- Hands on experience with the space hardware, working in the cleanroom, EGSE and test set up
- Familiar with the RF measurement equipment
- Ability to work in a team and learn new things
- Good command of spoken and written English
