DKRZ not only operates supercomputers of the highest performance class and one of the largest data and archive systems, but also participates in many national and international projects aimed at improving the software and infrastructure for climate modelling. Here we are offering a position as Research Software Engineer (all genders) HPC Code Performance Optimisation Your tasks DKRZ plays a significant role in a number of projects with the aim of advancing Earth System Modelling (ESM). This facilitates the advancement of scientific knowledge in the fields of Earth system modelling and climate research. In the context of the current development of digital twins of the Earth, it is necessary to adapt increasingly complex models and corresponding software to the most powerful HPC systems in Europe and ensure that those codes run stable and efficiently. As a member of the team of Research Software Engineers (RSEs), you will collaborate with Earth System scientists to overcome technical challenges in high-performance computing (HPC) and software development. Your responsibilities will include further developing, testing and optimising existing coupled Earth System models. This will allow them to be extended with new components (e.g. ice sheet models) without compromising the efficient execution time. This is a key challenge, given the need to use resources effectively on current and future HPC systems. For this position, we are looking for candidates who are interested in the interdisciplinary implementation of Earth System models and who want to apply their programming skills to new challenges. º You have a university degree in Economics, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience with proven performance in logistics, commercial, or supply chain management

º Your background includes 3-5 years of management experience, preferably in distribution, retail, logistics, or similar environments

º You inspire and engage others with proven strategic leadership skills in changing environments

º Strong analytical abilities help you understand budgets, costs, and key performance measurements to plan and steer business operations

º You communicate confidently and clearly, with experience working through others, setting priorities, and giving honest feedback

º Fluent English skills, both written and verbal, enable you to collaborate effectively across the organizationYour responsibilitiesYou will report directly to the Market Manager, collaborating closely to deliver operational excellence and high-performing logistics operations across two units in Klagenfurt and Graz that enable seamless customer experiences and profitable growth.

º You lead, coach, and develop a high-performing logistics team, working closely with commercial teams to build a culture of performance, competence development, and inclusion

º Together with your team, you secure excellent logistics operations focused on retail foundation, service execution, quality improvements, and cost optimization

º You drive customer and co-worker satisfaction at the lowest possible cost across all channels, actively working with customer satisfaction scores and feedback

º By implementing new operational processes and technologies, you create a safe and secure working environment while ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures

º You take accountability for driving the customer logistics part of the unit's commercial and growth agenda

º With your business understanding, you translate business plans into tactical and operational performance, balancing efficiency and profitabilityApply now!The collective agreement minimum salary for this position is € 3.000,- gross per month (full-time). Based on an all-in contract (14x per year), we offer a minimum gross salary of € 4.200,- per month for this position. It is important to us that you are paid fairly and in line with your competences. Therefore, your actual salary will be determined together with you in a personal interview.
