Helse Fonna HF consists of four hospitals located in Haugesund, Stord, Odda, and Valen. We in addition have four local psychiatric centres (DPS). Haugesund Hospital is a general public hospital, located in the city of Haugesund. It is a part of the teaching facility network of Regional Health Authority of Western Norway. Our Department of Age-Related Medicine is organized as a separate unit within the medical clinic. It contains three small wards with eight beds each and outpatient service for geriatric internal medicine, Old Age Psychiatrist/ Geriatric Psychiatry and short time observation for general internal medicine. The unit is approved for 9 months in the specialization program for general psychiatrists. As an Old Age Psychiatrist or as an geriatric psychiatrist, you must have a holistic perspective, and you will work closely with other colleagues from other professions. We have our own Research group for Age-Related Medicine (https://www.helse-fonna.no/en/geriatric-medicine-research-group/) . We are looking for a psychiatrist who has interests in professional development and teamwork. Doctors in their final years of their specialization are encouraged to apply!
