The objective of the FA "Event Expert" function in Fund accounting is to provide specialized knowledge and guidance regarding the accounting treatment of specific, often complex, business events or transactions. This function ensures that such events are correctly identified, analyzed, and recorded in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
The event expert interprets and applies accounting standards to unique or non-routine transactions (e.g., mergers, Cik, restructurings, migration, depooling,….).
In summary, the event expert function acts as a center of excellence for handling complex accounting events, supporting accurate financial treatment and compliance.
Your role
• Managing Fund Events such as Pooling, Merger, Launch, Onboarding, CIK & RIK.
• Setting up Share Classes / Funds & Fees in the multiple working environments.
• Ensuring a high level of straight-through accounting of trades (cash, TA and portfolio) through PicLink interface with Avaloq and Neoxam, and a high quality of reconciliation.
• Maximizing the use of MFGA capabilities including latest modules; building relationships with operational peers at Temenos and at industry level; communicating regularly on MFGA capabilities and supported technical set-ups; benchmarking practices with those of other industry players.
• Contributing to increasing FA data upload and data export solution offering. Securing, controlling, and streamlining non-recurrent data injections for client set-up and onboarding.
• Responding to enquiries from external and internal clients and auditors; managing the escalating of service issues, escalating to management when required.
• Maintaining sound collaboration with other teams including FA, TA and Tech.
• Assisting NAV Ops Teams with the Day-to-Day Support on BAU.
• Communicating professionally with FPS clients (funds/management companies), Service Providers (Temenos, Sowatec…) and internal stakeholders
Your profile
• Master's degree in Economics, Finance or Engineering
• 10 years' experience in a similar function
• Fluent in french and english
• Deep knowledge in Multifonds Fund Accounting.
• Fund accounting knowledge in the specific events of a fund (Launch, Migration, Merger, Cik, Liquidation, Side-pocket,…)
• In-depth Knowledge of Fund Accounting Standards and regulation
• Performance Fee Model
• Highly skilled User of MS and Oracle Tools and experience of accessing and using analytical tools simultaneously while never losing sight of the big picture.
• Being comfortable in dealing with huge volume of data, activities, requirements, and reporting's needs.
• Team player and resistant to stress in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to meet deadlines, prioritise and multitask.
• Meticulous, detail oriented, organised, and able to deliver the highest quality.
