Job description


Your specific tasks will be to

• Study faba bean transcriptional responses to allelochemicals and insects
• Develop a research program on faba bean – insect interactions

Your general tasks will consist of

• Independent research of high international quality, including publication.
• Teaching, guidance and examination of Bachelor’s and Master's degree students, as well as possibly co-supervision of PhD students.
• Contribution to attracting external research funding.
• Development of national and international networks and collaborations in research.

Your profile

We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with a keen interest in legume biology that can solve problems independently and enjoys working at the interface between biology and data science in collaborative projects. Fluency in spoken and written English is required. Experience with faba bean cultivation and bulk and single-cell transcriptomics is an advantage. 

Who we are

Situated in a newly renovated laboratory complex within the central campus of Aarhus University, The Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics comprises a vibrant research and education environment. The department currently has 75 full time scientific staff, 95 PhD students and a yearly uptake of around 100 students housed in the same building ensuring a lively setting.
The department has access to state-of-the-art core facilities, including FACS, Bioimaging, CryoEM and Biophysics cores.

You will be part of a dynamic environment at the Section for Plant Molecular Biology, Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, where work is focused on the study of legumes. The research environment is cross-disciplinary with PIs specialized in bioinformatics, biochemistry, microbiology, molecular biology and genetics.

About the Job

We have a vacancy for a senior researcher to contribute to externally funded projects at the Department of engineering cybernetics at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim.

The SmallSatLab at NTNU conducts research on satellite systems, including payload development, mission design, system engineering and integration, satellite control and operations, data analysis and algorithm development for a wide range of applications in remote sensing, data communication and localization. The lab currently operates two own satellites – the HYPSO-1 and -2 – while several new concepts and payloads are under development for new satellite missions. Research is currently centered around hyperspectral imaging (instruments, data processing algorithms and applications), satellite-based maritime surveillance and security, and integrated systems-of-systems where small satellites interact closely with autonomous systems, drones and other assets and data sources for advanced observation missions.

The researcher will conduct research in externally funded projects in the areas mentioned above, and assist the SmallSatLab with developing such projects. We are looking for candidates that have a broad interest, competence and experience in the field of small satellite systems, and with expertise in one or more of the following areas: Embedded systems hardware and software; system engineering; system integration and testing; navigation and localization; hyperspectral imaging and systems; data processing; maritime surveillance. The researcher will be a key resource in project teams where he or she will interact with other researchers, industry and government agencies.

Required selection criteria

“Seniorforsker 1109” (senior researcher)

To meet the qualification requirements for “seniorforsker” (Norwegian Civil Service Handbook 5.7.2 § 4), research competence at the associate professor level is required.

• A doctoral degree in a relevant subject area, for example control engineering, electronic systems, aerospace engineering, remote sensing, or similar.
• Experience with development and/or operation of small satellite systems, documented by publications.
• Documented expertise in one or more of the following areas: Embedded systems hardware and software; system engineering; system integration and testing; navigation and localization; hyperspectral imaging and systems; data processing algorithms; maritime surveillance.
• Good programming skills.
• Good written and oral English and Norwegian language skills.

The research planned for the position has civilian and dual use objectives. Some of the equipment being used is subject to export regulations or other limitations such as ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations), and the position requires that the applicant has permission to use such equipment. Some activities will be subject to export control regulations and some may also require security clearance. The person hired should be eligible for security clearance at level KONFIDENSIELT in Norway.

Salary and conditions

As a researcher (code 1109) you are normally paid from gross NOK 600 000– NOK 750 000 per annum before tax, depending on qualifications and seniority. As required by law, 2% of this salary will be deducted and paid into the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund.

What will you do?

You make sure buses stay in top technical condition:

• Vehicle preparation: checking new buses arriving from the factory and installing required options
• Electrical systems & diagnostics: working on electric buses, analysing faults and performing diagnostics using software and measuring tools
• Maintenance & repairs: performing maintenance and repairs (mechanical and electrical), both planned and unexpected

Jouw rol en verantwoordelijkheden

• In nauwe samenwerking met interne stakeholders en externe partners werk je doordachte projectplanningen uit. Zo realiseer je geïntegreerde, ziekenhuisbrede technische oplossingen met duurzame impact.
• Je neemt technische projecten volledig in handen: van voorbereiding en uitvoering tot opvolging. Daarbij bewaak je doelstellingen, budget en timing en waak je strikt over kwaliteit, veiligheid, duurzaamheid en de naleving van alle relevante regelgeving (federale wetgeving, Vlaamse normen, EPB, brandveiligheid …).
• Je levert een actieve bijdrage aan het onderhoud, de optimalisatie en de betrouwbaarheid van onze technische installaties en infrastructuur, en ondersteunt bij het uitwerken en verfijnen van onderhoudsstrategieën.
• Dankzij je grondige kennis van AutoCAD teken je nieuwe technische plannen uit of pas je bestaande plannen vlot aan na uitvoering.
• Je neemt een trekkersrol op in de verdere uitbouw en opvolging van het energiemonitoringssysteem en draagt zo concreet bij aan het realiseren van onze CO₂‑reductiedoelstellingen. Daarnaast werk je actief mee aan de optimalisatie van het gebouwenbeheersysteem (GBS).
• Je analyseert bestaande processen en identificeert kansen om efficiënter en consistenter te werken. Deze verbeteropportuniteiten vertaal je naar concrete acties, nieuwe procedures en duidelijke werkinstructies op de werkvloer.

Jouw profiel

• Je beschikt bij voorkeur over een relevant master-of bachelordiploma in de ingenieurswetenschappen, bouwkunde of gelijkwaardig door ervaring.
• Je hebt bij voorkeur een eerste ervaring in een projectmanagementrol. Ervaring in (of affiniteit met) de zorgsector is mooi meegenomen, maar geen strikt vereiste. Belangrijker is dat je een brede blik hebt en vlot kunt werken in een complexe, gereguleerde omgeving.

Binnen de functie als Team & Process Coordinator ben jij hoofdzakelijk verantwoordelijk voor een team van vier teamleaders en 25 medewerkers, verdeeld over 2 locaties: Merelbeke en Oostende.

De Coördinator die wij zoeken, herkent zich in volgende eigenschappen:

• In bezit van een Bachelor of Master in een technische en/of businessrichting is een pluspunt;
• Beschikt over een ruime commerciële ervaring en dit in een leidinggevende rol;
• Sterke technische kennis sanitair, HVAC en hernieuwbare energie is een MUST!
• Verplaatsen tussen Oost/West Vlaanderen (Oostende-Merelbeke) is voor jou geen probleem;
• Foutloos communiceren in het Nederlands en Frans is voor jou geen probleem. Beheersing van een andere taal is een pluspunt;

Je helpt bij het toevoegen van nieuwe producten en het up-to-date houden van het assortiment.

Je ondersteunt bij de opvolging van klachten en kwaliteitscontroles.

Samenwerking
Je werkt nauw samen met collega’s van aankoop, logistiek, marketing en sales.

Je hebt minimum een bachelor diploma, bij voorkeur aangevuld met een aantal jaar relevante werkervaring in een gelijkaardige functie.

Je krijgt energie van het uitbouwen van diepgaande productkennis en het verkennen van de markt.

Je communiceert vlot, denkt analytisch en werkt nauwkeurig.

Je weet prioriteiten te stellen en houdt het hoofd koel, ook wanneer het druk wordt.

Als CAD/CAM programmeur ben je mee verantwoordelijk voor de realisatie van onze ontwerpen. Je vertaalt 3D tekeningen naar sterke cam programma’s en denkt mee over de beste strategie. Je programmeert offline: je werkt dus niet rechtstreeks aan de machine, maar bereidt de programma’s voor vanuit de CAM omgeving. Daarbij werk je nauw samen met alle collega’s zodat de projecten haalbaar blijven.

Wat ga je doen?

• Je werkt met het CAM-programma Hypermill
• Je programmeer offline
• Je zet 3D tekeningen om naar programma’s voor onze freesmachines.
• Je programmeert voornamelijk 3 assig werk, met daarnaast ook 5 assige toepassingen
• Je denkt mee over opspanningen, bewerksstrategiëen, toleranties en afwerkingskwaliteit
• Je stemt hiervoor regelmatig af met alle collega’s
• Je werkt hiernaast ook actief mee aan verbeteringen, automatisaties en standaardisaties (bv./ macro’s)
• Afhankelijk van je interesse en ervaring, kun je ook een coachende rol opnemen.

Als Manager Aftersales zorg jij ervoor dat klanten ook na de oplevering dezelfde kwaliteitservaring behouden. Jij bewaakt het overzicht over alle service- en klantendossiers en zorgt ervoor dat problemen correct, professioneel en efficiënt opgelost worden.

Je combineert operationele opvolging met coaching, analyse en optimalisatie. Daarbij hou je steeds rekening met zowel de klant, de interne werking als de technische haalbaarheid. Dankzij jouw aanpak blijft de dienstverlening professioneel, gestructureerd en klantgericht.
