As a maintenance technician, you will work in a large, fully automated distribution centre where technology is constantly in motion. Conveyor systems, roller conveyors, lifts and other automated installations ensure that enormous volumes of goods are moved throughout the warehouse. If a system comes to a standstill, that is where your work becomes interesting: identifying the cause of the problem and getting the system back up and running as quickly as possible. You will work with a broad combination of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and control technology. One fault may be caused by a mechanical component, while the next may require electrical troubleshooting or analysing the control system. You will look beyond simply replacing a faulty component: you will determine the root cause and identify what is needed to resolve the issue properly. Using advanced monitoring applications, you can see what is happening within the system and systematically identify technical and system-related faults. You will carry out repairs and maintenance and accurately document significant breakdowns and maintenance activities. It is precisely this combination that makes the role so interesting: rather than working on a single machine, you will work with an entire automated system in which different technologies come together. Job description: Industrial painting, surface preparation and protective coating work on offshore oil and gas installations in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea. Typical work includes abrasive blasting, water jetting, coating application by airless spray / brush / roller, stripe coating, and application or repair of epoxy intumescent passive fire protection (PFP), including Chartek systems. Work is performed in accordance with project specifications, coating procedures, HSE requirements and client quality standards. Requirements: - Minimum 2 years of relevant, documented experience in industrial painting and surface treatment. - Hands-on experience with surface preparation, including abrasive blasting and/or high-pressure water jetting, and application of protective coating systems. - Documented experience with epoxy intumescent passive fire protection (PFP), preferably Chartek or equivalent systems. - Experience with NORSOK M-501 or equivalent offshore coating requirements is an advantage. - Trade certificate (fagbrev) in industrial painting/surface treatment is an advantage. Candidates without a trade certificate must meet §13 or equivalent site-test competence requirements, where applicable. - Minimum B1 level in a Scandinavian language: Norwegian, Swedish or Danish. - Before offshore mobilisation, candidates must meet the assignment-specific requirements for recognised basic safety/emergency training and a valid offshore medical certificate. Exact certificate requirements will be confirmed during recruitment. - Strong HSE awareness, quality focus, reliability and ability to work effectively in multicultural project teams.
