How will you contribute? • You will contribute to the design, operation and continuous improvement of LIST's high performance computing and data infrastructure supporting research, data processing and organisational workloads. You will be mainly in charge of: • Administering and optimising compute cluster environments based on Kubernetes (K8s), Docker, Podman, VMware and Proxmox • Managing enterprise storage infrastructure including SAN and DAS systems using InfiniBand and Fibre Channel technologies, as well as HPC oriented parallel file systems such as BeeGFS • Operating and maintaining enterprise backup and recovery solutions based on Commvault to ensure reliable data protection and disaster recovery • Monitoring compute, storage and backup platforms to detect performance issues, capacity constraints and operational anomalies • Ensuring efficient scheduling and resource allocation within compute clusters to support fair and optimal use of computing resources • Implementing automation and configuration management tools (e.g. Ansible or similar) to improve operational efficiency and infrastructure consistency • Performing system upgrades, patch management and lifecycle maintenance of cluster nodes, storage platforms and backup infrastructure • Supporting incident response and troubleshooting activities to ensure rapid restoration of services • Implementing security best practices including access control, system hardening and secure data management • Collaborating with IT operations teams, system administrators, researchers and application developers to design and optimise computing environments • Supporting hybrid infrastructure integration with on premise platforms and public cloud services such as AWS and Microsoft Azure • Documenting system architectures, procedures and operational guidelines • Following emerging technologies and proposing improvements to enhance computing and data infrastructure capabilities The role combines deep technical expertise with operational responsibility, ensuring reliable and scalable infrastructure services for research and organisational needs. After the International Energy Agency, cooling our food and houses requires today 20 % of all the energy needed in the residential sector. This share will grow to 40 % by 2040 as a direct consequence of the world population increase and the global warming effect. This industry accounts for 10% of all CO2 emissions, which is three times more than what is generated by aviation and shipping. The existing cooling technologies are overwhelmingly dominated by the vapour-compression systems, which is a 150 years-old technology relying on greenhouse gases and exhibiting an average efficiency less than 50 %. We clearly need to come up with more efficient cooling principles. LIST has recently been very successful at showing that electrocaloric cooling is a convincing technology when it comes to efficient cooling alternative principles (Alvar Torello et al. Science 2020; Junning Li et al., Science, 2023). In this study, we want to investigate electrocaloric polymers as cooling elements, in the frame of a European project from the EIC scheme. The idea of this project is to combine the exclusive assets of electrocaloric polymers in one single device and assess its global efficiency. These assets are (1) excellent electrocaloric properties, (2) excellent materials efficiency, (3) the possibility to boost efficiency by recycling energy, (4) scale-up possibilities thanks to roll-to-roll compatibilities and (5) compactness of cooling devices. More specifically, the role of the post doc will be to fabricate polymer-based electrocaloric multilayer capacitors, to test their structural, dielectric, ferroelectric, thermal and electrocaloric properties. Reliability studies will be deployed to determine the breakdown voltage and the expected lifetime of the multilayers. Among others, and depending on their area of activity, their duties may include: Performs RDI tasks with autonomy evaluates, selects, and applies scientific methods; conducts experiments and tests (following predefined protocols); makes critical analysis, evaluation, and synthesis of new or complex ideas; evaluates feasibility and effectiveness of solutions; etc. Contributes to the identification of new opportunities for innovation or application. Verantwoordelijkheden:

• Aansturen, begeleiden en motiveren van je team op locatie. Een goede sfeer op de werf creëren en opvolgen of de gemaakte afspraken worden nageleefd
• Je steekt zelf de handen uit de mouwen en werkt mee aan de aanleg van onze projecten
• Voorbereiden van de ondergrond en uitzetten van het terrein volgens plan
• Plaatsen van boordstenen, terrassen, opritten en andere verhardingen
• Aanleggen van gazons (inzaaien of grasmatten), plantenborders en beplanting
• Helpen bij het plaatsen van tuinconstructies zoals afsluitingen, bijgebouwen, ….
• Helpen bij het installeren van beregeningssystemen, tuinverlichting of andere technische elementen
• Plannen en coördineren van de werken in overleg met de projectleider
• Controleren van de kwaliteit, veiligheid en efficiëntie van de uitgevoerde werken
• Klanten te woord staan op de werf en zorgen voor een nette afhandeling
• Dagelijks werkbonnen invullen en terugkoppelen aan de projectleider
• Problemen op locatie zelfstandig of in samenspraak met de projectleider oplossen

Verantwoordelijkheden:

• Je staat in voor het aanleggen van particuliere en bedrijfstuinen, stuk voor stuk topprojecten in heel België en (soms) buurlanden dit onder leiding van een ploegverantwoordelijke en de projectleider aanleg
• Voorbereiden van de ondergrond en uitzetten van het terrein volgens plan
• Plaatsen van boordstenen, terrassen, opritten en andere verhardingen
• Aanleggen van gazons (inzaaien of grasmatten), plantenborders en beplanting
• Helpen bij het plaatsen van tuinconstructies zoals afsluitingen, bijgebouwen, ….
• Je vertrekt samen met je collega dagelijks vanuit ons magazijn naar de aan jouw toegewezen klanten en projecten
• Jij bent het ‘visitekaartje’ van ons bedrijf, het gezicht dat onze klanten en collega’s verwelkomt en met hen communiceert over de werkzaamheden en het projectverloop

• Je bent een echte buitenmens en houdt er van de handen uit de mouwen te steken;
• Je kan werken nauwkeurig werken volgens plan;
• Je kan je flexibel opstellen in functie van werktijden;- Je hebt een oog voor detail en kwaliteit;
• Je bent klantgericht en een echte teamplayer.

Als ploegverantwoordelijke tuinonderhoud ben jij hét aanspreekpunt op de werf en stuur je je team aan bij het onderhouden van prachtige particuliere en bedrijfstuinen – stuk voor stuk topprojecten verspreid over heel België (en soms de buurlanden).

Je bent dagelijks op de baan, vertrekkend vanuit ons magazijn naar de toegewezen werven en klanten.

Verantwoordelijkheden:

• Aansturen, begeleiden en motiveren van je team op locatie. Een goede sfeer op de werf creëren en opvolgen of de gemaakte afspraken worden nageleefd
• Je steekt zelf de handen uit de mouwen en werkt mee aan het dagelijks onderhoud van tuinen: snoeien, maaien, hagen scheren, bemesten, onkruid verwijderen, enz
• Plannen en coördineren van de werken in overleg met de projectleider
• Controleren van de kwaliteit, veiligheid en efficiëntie van de uitgevoerde werken
• Klanten te woord staan op de werf en zorgen voor een nette afhandeling
• Dagelijks werkbonnen invullen en terugkoppelen aan de projectleider
• Problemen op locatie zelfstandig of in samenspraak met de projectleider oplossen

• Je hebt minimum 3 jaar ervaring in tuinonderhoud
• Je neemt graag verantwoordelijkheid en hebt leidinggevende capaciteiten
• Je bent klantgericht, communicatief sterk en werkt graag in team
• Je hebt oog voor detail en streeft naar kwaliteit
• Je bent flexibel qua werkuren en werkt graag buiten
• Je beschikt over een rijbewijs B/BE
• Je hebt een fytolicentie of heeft interesse dit bij ons te behalen
• Je bent een echte buitenmens en houdt er van de handen uit de mouwen te steken;
• Je hebt ervaring in de sector: het onderhouden van een tuin van A tot Z kent voor jou geen geheimen.
• Je denkt transparant en oplossingsgericht;
• Je kan nauwkeurig werken volgens plan;
• Je kan je flexibel opstellen in functie van werktijden;
