Research Laboratory Technician \- Group Dahmane The group of Dr. Selma Dahmane at the Miescher Institute for Biomedical Research is seeking a research assistant to support a new collaborative project with the group of Dr. Jeffrey Chao. The project will investigate how the localization and translation of specific mRNAs are regulated in neurons, and how these processes may be altered in neurodevelopmental disorders. The work combines advanced cell culture, molecular biology, genome engineering, single\-molecule imaging, cryo\-electron microscopy, and cryo\-electron tomography. We are looking for a motivated and adaptable individual who enjoys working in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment and contributing to the development and application of cutting\-edge approaches in cellular and molecular neuroscience. The position is offered as a three\-year fixed\-term contract. In this role, you will: Generate and maintain cell culture lines, including induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) lines and iPSC\-derived neurons. Optimize cell culture conditions and apply genome\-engineering tools. Conduct experiments using molecular biology and biochemistry techniques. Analyze data, document results, and contribute to their interpretation. Collaborate with and support the work of a small research team. The position is for a full-time role. The employment contract will be signed with Barona Production Oy, and the work will begin as agreed (at the earliest in August). As a Harness Manufacturing Technician, you'll be working hands-on with real satellite hardware in ICEYE's Satellite Integration team in Espoo. You'll assemble and verify the wiring harnesses that go inside the satellites themselves - precise, high-stakes work that directly contributes to missions in orbit. What we are looking for We are seeking candidates with 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in cable or wiring harness assembly, preferably from aerospace, electronics, or other high-reliability industries. A vocational or technical qualification in electronics, electrical engineering, mechanical assembly, or equivalent practical training is considered beneficial. The ideal candidate has strong manual dexterity and enjoys precise work with small wires, connectors and cable assemblies.
