Postdoctoral fellow in experimental hematology

The Institute of Biomedicine is involved in both research and education. In both of these areas, we focus on fundamental knowledge of the living cell – what it consists of, how it works, how its function is directed by the genetic material, and how it interacts with various kinds of micro-organisms. Using this knowledge, we try to elucidate the causes of diseases, and find new ways to diagnose and treat them. A postdoctoral position in Experimental Hematology is available at Professor David Bryders research laboratory at Sahlgrenska Cancer Center, University of Gothenburg. Subject area Experimental hematologi Subject area description Ongoing work is focused on characterizing hematopoietic stem cell self-renewal and lineage commitment in both normal and malignant (leukemic) hematopoiesis, with a particular emphasis on the contribution of aging to these processes. Investigations will involve a wide range of methods in cell- and molecular biology, including the creation and characterization of novel mouse models. In the work, we employ CRISPR-mediated genome-editing and various next-generation sequencing approaches, including single-cell RNA-sequencing and associated bioinformatics tools. Job assignments The candidate will benefit from a multidisciplinary and collaborative environment, aiming at expanding, refining, improving and developing new skills necessary for the applicant's career development. The individual will conduct independent scientific research and will contribute directly to the overall research objectives of the project and research group. Postdoctoral students participate in project planning, documentation, interpretation / evaluation of data and dissemination of results obtained. The candidate will acquire critical technical and laboratory skills for his or her own career, including the development of skills in writing manuscripts and grants. Postdoctoral students will attend seminars, lectures and presentations at both national and international meetings. The position is funded by the research group, with the understanding that the applicant will compete for external service funding as part of its own career development. Eligibility An achieved doctoral degree is compulsory for a position as postdoctor at Göteborg University. The doctoral thesis shall be in a relevant area according to the specific position stated here. Since a position as postdoctor aims to give new holders of the doctorate the opportunity mainly to strengthen and develop their scholarly proficiency, we aim for those who have a doctoral degree not older than 3 years counting from last date of application. The qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4, Section 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance. Assessment Completed doctoral degree in relevant subject area. A copy of the diploma is required as proof of academic qualifications. Excellent oral and written (English) communication skills are essential. Wij zijn We Sell Our Furniture, een team van 16 personen. Ons atelier en toonzaal bevinden zich onder één dak in Bierbeek, vlakbij Leuven, maar onze klanten verspreiden zich over heel België. In onze toonzaal ontwerpen onze designers projecten met een creatieve twist. Ze staan in nauw contact met onze klanten en begeleiden ze persoonlijk doorheen hun project. Onze technisch tekenaar is de gouden link tussen de toonzaal en het atelier waar de projecten werkelijkheid worden. Hij vertaalt de finale ontwerpen naar werkbare technische plannen zodat onze schrijnwerkers ze tot leven kunnen brengen. Er is een constante wisselwerking tussen atelier en toonzaal, wat een motiverende boost geeft. Onze plaatsers doorkruisen het hele land om de installaties uit te voeren. We maken alles op maat van de klant.

We Sell Our Furniture is ook het team achter Frönts by YTA (www.yta.be)

Met YTA ontwerpen en maken we unieke Fröntjes die perfect passen op IKEA-systemen (METOD, PAX en BESTA), aangevuld met onze eigen handgemaakte grepen. Alles wordt lokaal geproduceerd in ons atelier in Bierbeek. Belgisch design, van idee tot afwerking.

Om onze groei verder te zetten openen we binnenkort een winkel in hartje Mechelen. Geen klassieke winkel, maar een plek waar interieur, materiaal en persoonlijk advies samenkomen.
