Danmarks Tekniske Universitet søger en handlekraftig innovationskonsulent, der kan udvikle universitetets samarbejde med erhvervslivet. Vi leder efter en kandidat, der kan facilitere partnerskaber med store virksomheder og sætte samarbejdet effektivt i spil på DTU. 

I 2021 lancerede DTU programmet “DTU Industrial Partnerships” - et ambitiøst initiativ, der har bragt store virksomheder som Novo Nordisk, Mærsk, Andel og AGC Biologics sammen i tætte strategiske samarbejder med DTU. Som innovationskonsulent vil du arbejde i én af universitetets koncernstabe: Afdelingen for Forskning, Rådgivning og Innovation - i Kontoret for Partnerskaber med godt 25 medarbejdere. Du vil indgå i et stærkt team for erhvervssamarbejde med erfarne projektledere, hvor du vil få god sparring – og du vil få en bred kontaktflade til forskere, studerende og virksomheder. Du får en makker i partnerskabsprogrammet, ligesom vi har en administrativ medarbejder tilknyttet det. 

Arbejdsområde og rolle
Din rolle bliver at fungere som key account manager for store danske industrivirksomheder, hvor du bl.a. vil varetage vores eksisterende partnerskab med Novo Nordisk. Din rolle er at være tovholder og facilitere dialog mellem virksomheden og relevante institutter og forskere på DTU. Du skal samtidig forberede workshops (idé-generering til nye projekter) og styre udviklingen af en portefølje af tværfaglige projekter sammen med virksomheder og forskere, herunder sikre projektrapportering til den øverste ledelse på DTU og i virksomhederne. Vi er aktuelt i en fase, hvor vi udvikler partnerskabsprogrammet med forventeligt nye formater, og vi vil i foråret 2026 rekruttere flere virksomheder til programmet. Denne proces vil du også blive en del af.

About the position

We are seeking a highly motivated and internationally recognized scholar to join our department as Professor or Associate Professor in Cyber Security with a focus on Cyber Physical Security. The position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research and education in a rapidly evolving field that is critical to society and industry. The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening our research profile, fostering collaboration with national and international partners, and shaping the next generation of OT security professionals. The position will be based at the Trondheim Campus. 

The role involves a balanced portfolio of research, teaching, and academic leadership. You will be expected to develop and lead research projects, secure external funding, and publish in top-tier venues. In addition, you will contribute to the department’s educational mission by teaching and supervision.

The successful candidate is expected to conduct research in the area of Cyber Physical Security with application domains including but not limited to energy systems and maritime environments, linking to other researchers in adjacent areas in the department and across the university. In this role, you are also expected to contribute to teaching in a range of cyber security topics.

Duties of the position

  • Initiate, participate in, and manage externally and internally funded research projects,  including in co-operation with DNV

  • Teaching at bachelor-, master- and PhD levels in all the study programs taught in the department

Required qualifications 

Professor:

You must have the following qualifications required for the position of professor:

  • A doctoral degree in a field within the area of cyber security or its corresponding fields such as computer science, electrical engineering and mathematics, or competence at an equivalent level documented by scientific work or artistic work of the same scope and quality
  • A research record appropriate to your academic experience, primarily demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications
  • An academic track record focused on cyber security with a clearly documented focus on Cyber Physical Security
  • Educational competence
  • Norwegian language skills at level B2
  • Significant contributions to research or artistic development work at the highest level, in accordance with international or national standards in the field

Additional requirements for professor at NTNU must be documented:

  • Quality development in own teaching and supervision over time and a high degree of reflection on own practice
  • Broad experience with supervision, preferably at master's/PhD level
  • Initiate, lead and/or participate in the development of educational quality in the academic communities
  • Competence in knowledge in use (innovation, dissemination and interaction with society)

Salary and conditions

As a Associate Professor / Professor (code 1011 /1013) you are normally paid from gross NOK 690.000– NOK 870.000 per annum before tax, depending on qualifications and seniority. As professor (code 1013) you are normally paid from gross 840.000 - NOK 1.000.000 per annum before tax. As required by law, 2% of this salary will be deducted and paid into the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund.

The engagement is to be made in accordance with the regulations in force concerning State Employees and Civil Servants, and the acts relating to Control of the Export of Strategic Goods, Services and Technology. Candidates who by assessment of the application and attachment are seen to conflict with the criteria in the latter law will be prohibited from recruitment to NTNU.  

After the appointment you must assume that there may be changes in the area of work.

For the necessary professional and social interaction, it is a prerequisite that you are physically present and available to the institution on a daily basis.

Both quality and scope will be taken into consideration, and an open scientific practice will be recognized.

About the job

The Department of Electronic Systems (IES) at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) has a vacancy for the permanent position as Associate Professor.

The applications of space technology, and use of small satellites in particular, have seen an extreme growth in the past 10 years. Small satellites can fill research or commercial gaps to complement bigger commercial and governmental space missions within, for example, earth observations and radio communications domains. NTNU is currently leading and involved in several research projects on both optical remote sensing and RF monitoring and is also in the process of strengthening space related education. To meet the demands of academia and industry, IES is currently strengthening our team with one Associate Professor position within small satellite technology.

Together with experienced and enthusiastic faculty staff at the department, the successful candidate is expected to conduct research in cooperation with academic institutions, research centers and companies. The candidate should be interested in developing research and education related to applications of small satellites. The candidate should actively contribute to development of new missions related to NTNU’s ongoing and future research projects. Activities related to prototyping hardware and software payload systems are foreseen. The hired Associate Professor’s immediate leader is the Head of the Circuit and Radio Systems group.


Duties of the position

A successful candidate shall:

  • initialize and lead research within the field of small satellite systems and payloads. From the perspective of this position, it includes identifying missions that connect NTNUs multidisciplinary research to contribute to realization of payloads for remote sensing and communications that ultimately can be enablers for research within, for example, communications, autonomy, biology, chemistry, surveillance and monitoring and more.
  • take a leading role in research-based education, including supervision, teaching, and course development for Bachelor, Master and Ph.D. students within space and satellite systems at IES.
  • participate in administrative activities, such as educational and research boards, that are conducted at IES.

Required qualifications 

You must have thefollowing qualifications required for the position of associate professor:

  • A doctoral degree in electrical engineering in the field of communications systems, or competence at an equivalent level documented either by scientific work or artistic work of the same scope and quality,
  • Educational competence
  • Norwegian language skills at level B2

  • Interest and experience in didactic development for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in space technology and systems.
  • Ability to attract funding and lead research and development projects in academia or industry.
  • Experience with mission definition and mission management for space systems including interfaces to ground systems.
  • Experience with project coordination and management, including involving students on various levels into research projects.
  • Experience with design and handling of space hardware.
  • Industrial experience and/or an active network of contacts in industry.

Salary and conditions

As a Associate Professor code 1011 you are normally paid from gross NOK 690 000 – 870 000 NOK per annum before tax, depending on qualifications and seniority. As required by law, 2% of this salary will be deducted and paid into the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund.

The engagement is to be made in accordance withthe regulations in force concerning State Employees and Civil Servants, and the acts relating to Control of the Export of Strategic Goods, Services and Technology. Digital hardware is an essential enabler for the development of future sustainable technological solutions, from the smallest IoT devices running on energy harvesting, through embedded systems in modern cars and autonomous vehicles, to high-end microprocessors and large datacenters. Frontier research and education into the design of these systems is necessary to ensure academic and industrial excellence and IES is currently strengthening our team with an Associate Professor position in system level digital hardware design.
