Luxembourg, LUXEMBOURG
Head of International Markets
Permanent contract
At HSBC, we're a trusted international organisation with a global customer base of around 39 million customers worldwide through a network that covers 62 countries and territories. In Europe, our ambition is to become the leading international wholesale bank and we need talent like you to help us meet our ambition. Whether you want a career that could take you to the top or in an exciting new direction - we offer opportunities, support and rewards that will take you further.
The HSBC Group in Luxembourg is a significant employer and operates several businesses including asset management, securities services, private banking and corporate banking.
By joining us, you'll help evolve and grow our private banking business.
What you will do:
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer Luxembourg, you will define and execute the Bank's international business development and market corridor strategy in Asia, the Middle East, the UK and the US. Working closely with the Business Head and Relationship Managers, you will drive disciplined delivery of Net New Money (NNM) and revenue, while safeguarding segment and book purity and ensuring a consistently strong client experience. You will promote HSBC Private Bank Luxembourg as the Booking Centre of choice for HSBC PB's international clients, seeking diversification in Continental Europe. As a senior member within the Luxembourg Front Office management team, you will also be accountable for governance and risk management processes and provide supervisory oversight of business activities.
In this role, you will (but not limited to):
• Own retention and growth of a Luxembourg-based private banking portfolio sourced from key international markets (Asia, Middle East, UK and US).
• Drive deepening across investments, lending and deposits (where applicable), reducing attrition and ensuring appropriate booking governance and book purity for corridor-sourced relationships.
• Run disciplined sales management, including opportunity qualification, pricing/returns focus, and activity standards.
• Establish corridor-to-PBLU portfolio routines (pipeline, attrition watchlist, top-client plans, rebooking/booking exception management).
• Define, refresh and execute the International Markets strategy in close partnership with the Business Heads, including priority client segments, target industries, and value propositions.
• Build and execute PBLU awareness and adoption plan through structured engagement programmes (education series, immersion and exchange visits, regular follow-ups) to deepen understanding of PBLU's platform, offering and capabilities across other HSBC Private Bank booking centres and relevant HSBC lines of business.
• Deliver market financial targets (revenue, margin, profitability, cost-to-serve where applicable), monitor performance drivers (mix, pricing, attrition, productivity), and ensure transparent forecasting by high-quality management information.
You should apply if you have:
• Extensive experience in Private Banking Relationship Management and senior client-facing roles.
• Positive track record in business development and risk management.
• Strong, up-to-date understanding of the market landscape, peer product offering and industry innovation.
• Experience working with clients and teams across Asia, MENA, the UK and the US.
• Demonstrated ability to shape market strategy and multi-year business plans, including footprint/capability design and target setting.
• Strong commercial execution skills, including pipeline management, conversion discipline, pricing/returns focus.
• Strong stakeholder management skills across products, operations, risk, compliance and multiple geographies.
• Fluent English (written and spoken).
Even if you feel you do not meet 100% of our qualifications, we encourage you to apply, if you believe this role is right for you.
What you'll get in return:
The pay range for this role is EUR 155,700 - 233,600.
