Are you commercially driven, relationship-focused and experienced in maritime or foodservice?
On behalf of Garrets International, we are looking for an experienced Regional Commercial Manager to take responsibility for key customers in the Nordic maritime market, with a particular focus on Norway.
This is a role for someone who enjoys staying close to customers, builds trust over time and is motivated by creating commercial growth through strong delivery, credibility and follow-up.
The position can be based in Aalborg or Norway.
The role
As Regional Commercial Manager, you will take over and develop a portfolio of important Nordic accounts. Garrets supports them with catering management, provisions and related services across their fleets.
Your role will be both commercial and operational. You will be the trusted point of contact who understands the customer’s business, follows up on issues and ensures that Garrets continues to deliver value both on board and across the customer organisation.
You will work closely with customers in Norway and should expect regular travel, approximately one week per month. A key part of the role will be to navigate the customer organisation, identify the right stakeholders and build relationships beyond procurement – for example with crew departments, vessel managers and other decision-makers who influence the partnership.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing and developing 5–6 key accounts in the Nordic market
Building strong relationships across the Norwegian maritime sector and the wider Nordic market
Acting as the main commercial contact for assigned accounts
Following up on operational issues, service feedback and day-to-day queries
Identifying opportunities to expand existing partnerships
Supporting commercial discussions on budgets, service levels and added value
While the role is not driven by a fixed new-sales target, you are expected to bring commercial curiosity and the ability to spot opportunities, open doors and build relationships over time.
Your profile
You have solid experience from a customer-facing commercial role, ideally as a Key Account Manager, Customer Relationship Manager, Business Development Manager or similar.
Most importantly, you bring experience from either the maritime industry or from catering, foodservice, provisioning or a related service environment. Experience from both areas would be highly relevant.
You are calm, trustworthy and commercially mature. You are used to building trust, are comfortable getting involved in the details and enjoy solving challenges in a practical way.
We imagine that you bring:
Experience with key account management or long-term partnerships
A background from maritime, shipping, offshore, logistics, catering, foodservice or provisioning
Strong commercial understanding and the ability to influence stakeholders professionally
Experience with client follow-up, service delivery or operational coordination
A structured and proactive way of working
Fluency in English, both written and spoken Norwegian language skills are highly desirable; alternatively, you have strong experience with the Norwegian market
Knowledge of Maritime English, Incoterms or shipping fundamentals is an advantage.
