Vacancy – Stud Farm & AI Centre Manager (Live-in Position Available)
We are looking for an experienced, dedicated and hands-on Stud Farm & Artificial Insemination (AI) Centre Manager to join our professional horse breeding operation.
This is not just a stable job. We are looking for someone who wants to become a key member of our team and help build a successful breeding programme focused on quality, horsemanship and professionalism.
Accommodation on-site is available and forms part of the position, particularly during the foaling season.
Your responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day management of the stud farm and AI centre.
- Care for stallions, broodmares, foals
- Assist with breeding and AI procedures.
- Share night foaling duties during the breeding season.
- Handle, socialise and educate foals and horses.
- Prepare and present stallions for inspections, grading and approvals.
- Monitor the health, welfare and condition of all horses.
- Maintain high standards of stable management and organisation.
- Work closely with veterinarians, clients and the rest of the team.
We are looking for someone who
- Has proven experience in horse breeding and stud management.
- Is confident handling stallions, broodmares and educating horses.
- Has excellent horsemanship and a calm, practical attitude.
- Can work independently and take responsibility.
- Is physically fit and enjoys working in a demanding, hands-on environment.
- Is willing to live on-site (partly or full-time) and share night foaling duties.
- Holds a valid driving licence (trailer licence is an advantage).
