Vi erbjuder Vi erbjuder ett spännande och varierat arbete på PKUlaboratoriet vid Centrum för Medfödda Metabola Sjukdomar (CMMS).  På CMMS arbetar vi med diagnostik av många olika ämnesomsättningssjukdomar och har en stor del av landet som upptagningsområde. För diagnostiken använder vi biokemiska analysmetoder (LC-MS-MS, GC-MS, HPLC samt spektrofotometriska metoder) samt ett brett sortiment av molekylärbiologiska metoder inklusive den senaste metodiken för genetisk diagnostik och laboratoriet är i en fas av snabb utveckling.     Vid CMMS genomförs också den rikstäckande screeningen av nyfödda barn för att tidigt identifiera medfödda behandlingsbara sjukdomar med det så kallade PKU- provet (Phenyl Ketone Uria = fenylketonuri). Sedan starten på 1960-talet har det successivt tillkommit nya sjukdomar och för närvarande screenar vi för 24 olika behandlingsbara sjukdomar.    Under detta år har man nu från Socialstyrelsen föreslagit att ytterligare en sjukdom, svår kombinerad immunbrist skall inkluderas i programmet. För att klara detta spännande uppdrag behöver vi nu bli fler som arbetar för att finna nyfödda barn med svåra behandlingsbara sjukdomar där en tidig diagnos avsevärt förbättrar prognosen och räddar liv.    Laboratoriet är lokaliserat till Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset i Solna. Vi är ett tvärprofessionellt gäng trevliga medarbetare (biomedicinska analytiker, administratörer, kemist och läkare) som arbetar tillsammans. För att vi skall lyckas i vårt uppdrag krävs att vi är duktiga på att samarbeta och kommunicera med varandra. Givetvis även att ha roligt ihop!    Om tjänsten På PKU laboratoriet brinner vi för de nyfödda barnens bästa! PKU laboratoriet har som det enda laboratoriet i Sverige i uppgift att hantera screeningen av Sveriges alla nyfödda barn avseende det så kallade PKU provet. För närvarande handlar det om cirka 120 000 nyfödda barn per år men till detta tillkommer en del nyinflyttade barn som vi också erbjuder denna omfattande screening. Vidare så följer vi en hel del redan diagnostiserade barn med regelbundna behandlingskontroller som görs på de filtrerpappersprov som används för nyföddhetsscreeningen.    Tjänsten omfattar det laborativa arbetet. De metoder som primärt används i den dagliga screeningverksamheten är immunologisk antikroppsbaserad metodik, två olika enzymanalyser och tandemasspektrometri. Vidare så arbetar vi med utveckling av olika nya metoder för att också kunna förbereda oss för nya sjukdomar som kan komma att läggas till vårt nationella screeningprogram. Den senaste sjukdomen som vi arbetat intensivt med under de senaste åren och som kommer att införas i det nationella screeningprogrammet är svår kombinerad immunbrist där vi använt oss av PCR baserad metodik.    Vi håller också på med ett spännande projekt för att förbättra vårt datasystem och anpassa detta till våra nya behov.    Vi söker Vi söker dig som gillar att utföra laborativt analysarbete och tycker att det spännande, viktiga och unika arbete som vi gör låter intressant. Det är mycket viktigt att du trivs med att samarbeta med andra och är duktig på att kommunicera. Vi lägger stor vikt vid dina personliga egenskaper och att du är noggrann.    Förmåga att hålla reda på siffror och att kunna hålla flera bollar i luften samtidigt är också nödvändigt. Det är även viktigt att du är intresserad av att lära nytt och kan klara av tempoväxlingar i arbetet. The project is tailored around the development and interpretation of spatially resolved measurements of ingredients of interest such as additives in a highly complex polymer matrix. They are considered crucial in the rubber industry under specific mixing/curing conditions and can react with the polymer matrix and/or the filler surface. Mass Spectrometry (MS) coupled with chromatographic techniques (LC, GC, GPC), combined with advanced technologies such as MS imaging, will represent key aspects for achieving the project's objectives. The development of analytical strategies will be based in particular on existing (ESI, APCI) and emerging (plasma- or laser-assisted) ionization techniques. How will you contribute?
