Department of Molecular Medicine at SDU is looking for applicants for a PhD scholarship within the field of biomarker and therapeutic target investigations in biliary atresia. We are looking for a person with a relevant degree (MD, MSc. etc.)

 

Research environment

The PhD project will be based at the Department of Inflammation, Institute of Molecular Medicine (IMM), University of Southern Denmark. The department constitutes an international and interdisciplinary research environment with strong expertise in immunology and inflammation, including the mechanisms underlying inflammatory diseases and their role in tissue damage and disease development. The research is characterized by close integration of basic and translational approaches, as well as well-established collaboration with clinical environments. The department offers modern laboratory facilities, employs advanced molecular and cellular methods, and provides a stimulating, inclusive, and ambitious research environment with excellent opportunities for academic mentoring, international collaboration, and researcher training.

 

Project description

Biliary atresia (BA) is a rare and severe cholestatic liver disease of infancy and the leading cause of pediatric liver transplantation. The disease is characterized by progressive inflammation and liver fibrosis, yet the mechanisms driving fibrogenesis remain incompletely understood and reliable prognostic biomarkers are lacking. Improved risk stratification and a deeper mechanistic understanding of fibrosis development are essential to improve outcomes following Kasai portoenterostomy and to guide future therapeutic strategies.

This PhD project investigates extracellular matrix-related mechanisms underlying liver fibrosis in BA through a combination of clinical, translational, and experimental approaches. The PhD student will work with patient cohort to perform biomarker analyses and statistical modeling of clinical outcomes. In parallel, the student will contribute to the development and validation of novel blood-based biomarker assay. Mechanistic studies will be conducted in a neonatal large-animal model of cholestatic liver injury, where the student will participate in in vivo interventions, longitudinal sample collection, and downstream analyses of liver fibrosis, immune responses, and tissue remodeling using histological, biochemical, and molecular techniques. The study is performed in collaboration between University of Southern Denmark in Odense and Copenhagen University Hospital/University in Copenhagen and the student will have tasks at both locations. The project offers comprehensive training in translational liver research, including data analysis, experimental design, and scientific dissemination. 

 

Qualifications

We are looking for a highly motivated PhD candidate with a strong interest in translational biomedical research and liver disease. The ideal candidate has:

• A Master’s degree (or equivalent) in medicine, biomedical sciences, molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, veterinary science, or a related field

• Documented experience or strong interest in experimental laboratory work

• Basic knowledge of cell and molecular biology, immunology, or pathology

• Interest in liver biology, fibrosis, or pediatric diseases (prior experience is an advantage but not required)

• Experience with or willingness to learn biomarker analyses (e.g. ELISA), histological techniques, and molecular assays

• Interest in animal models and in vivo experimentation; prior experience is an advantage

• Basic skills in data analysis and statistics, or willingness to acquire these skills

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage complex experimental workflows

• Good written and spoken English skills

Salary and any salary supplement are paid according to your seniority level and as negotiated with your union representative. The base salary (excluding 18.07% pension contribution) is DKK 374,912.98.

technicien batiment erp H/F - EC22208 Sous l’autorité hiérarchique du Directeur des Services Techniques, l’agent aura en charge les missions suivantes : 1) Pilotage des consommations d’énergie et d’eau - Assurer le suivi des contrats de fourniture - Assurer le suivi des consommations & le pilotage énergétique : Repérer les anomalies (fuites, surchauffe, fonctionnement anormal) et déclencher des actions correctives. - Maîtriser les coûts et contrats : contrôler les factures (index, puissances, options, taxes), proposer des optimisations (abonnements, tarifs, regroupements, renégociation/groupement) et appuyer les marchés énergie/eau. - Déployer un plan de sobriété : actions rapides -s ... ux- (réglages CVC, consignes, horaires, veilles, eau), plan par bâtiment (priorités, planning, gains) et sensibilisation des agents/usagers. - Appuyer les projets de rénovation : participer aux diagnostics, aider à définir les besoins et objectifs de performance, puis suivre les résultats après travaux (mesure des gains, réglages). - Assurer reporting et financements : produire des bil ... iers (dépenses, consommations, économies) et contribuer aux dossiers d’aides/subventions et au suivi des indicateurs énergie-climat. 2) Suivi sécurité incendie, sûreté et accessibilité - Piloter la conformité sécurité incendie des ERP : tenir à jour les registres de sécurité, planifier/archiver les contrôles réglementaires, suivre les rapports (levée des réserves) et gérer les contrats de maintenance des équipements de sécurité. - Assurer le suivi accessibilité PMR : suivre les diagnostics et pl ... ions, monter et suivre les dossiers de travaux (cheminements, sanitaires, signalétique, accueil, etc.) et maintenir la documentation/attestations à jour. - Préparer commissions et dossiers administratifs : constituer les dossiers (registres, rapports, pl ... PV), suivre les avis et prescriptions des commissions et piloter la mise en conformité, en appui aux demandes d’autorisation travaux/aménagements (sécurité et accessibilité). - Conseiller auprès des élus et des services communaux pour toutes questions relatives à la sécurité des Etablissements Recevant du Public - Animer la prévention et la culture sécurité : formaliser les consignes (évacuation, issues, affichages), organiser les exercices d’évacuation (planning, comptes rendus, actions), sensibiliser les agents/responsables de site et contribuer à la sûreté (accès, fermetures, signalements, lien police municipale). - Contrôler et valider le volet sécurité/accessibilité des projets (pl ... choix techniques, implantation). - Assurer la conformité en fin de chantier : réception, levée des réserves, mise à jour des registres et des pl ... 3) Suivi amiante - Structurer la gestion documentaire amiante : recenser tous les bâtiments, centraliser les documents et tenir une base amiante par site (repérages, zones, matériaux, conclusions) avec un classement rigoureux (pl ... rapports, photos, PV, attestations). - Assurer le suivi des DTA : vérifier que chaque bâtiment dispose d’un DTA conforme et à jour, planifier les réévaluations, actualiser après travaux/sinistres/modifications, et diffuser l’information de façon maîtrisée aux responsables de site, maintenance et entreprises. - Assurer un travail de repérage amiante avant travaux (RAT/RAAT) : exiger un repérage avant toute intervention à risque, intégrer l’exigence d ... emandes/CCTP/commandes et s’assurer que les entreprises disposent des infos amiante et de procédures adaptées. - Gérer les après travaux: récupérer tous les justificatifs (bordereaux déchets, rapports, pl ... PV), Actualiser le suivi amiante : mettre à jour la base patrimoniale et le DTA avec l’état final (matériaux, zones traitées, photos). - Assurer la gestion des risques et non-conformités : sécuriser immédiatement en cas de suspicion (arrêt, balisage, information), piloter les suites (diagnostic, mesures conservatoires, retrait/encapsulage) et assurer la traçabilité jusqu’à la levée des écarts. - Assurer la sensibilisation et la coordination : former les équipes aux réflexes -stop/signalement-, organiser un circuit d’alerte clair, et coordonner les acteurs internes et externes (prévention/RH, responsables de sites, MOE, bureaux de contrôle). 4) Suivi de la qualité de l’air intérieur - Organiser le suivi QAI : structurer la démarche (référents, calendrier, procédures) et centraliser la documentation (pl ... ntilation, notices, maintenance, mesures, actions). - Piloter la ventilation : identifier les systèmes (naturelle, VMC, CTA-), planifier la maintenance (nettoyage bouches/entrées d’air, filtres, contrôles, équilibrage/débits) et vérifier l’adéquation entre occupation, débits et horaires de fonctionnement, notamment en période froide et en forte fréquentation. - Réaliser mesures & indicateurs : suivre quelques repères simples (CO-, température/humidité, sign
