BRIDGE AI-Lab officially starts in September and does not yet have its own website, but the centre is looking for candidates who integrate Large Language Models (LLM) at scale in their research within economics and finance, e.g. for text analysis or data generation.

Duties of the position

• The position allows the postdoctoral fellow to continue their own research activities and explore ideas within the area of the selected research center.
• You are expected to contribute to international conferences and publish in international peer-reviewed journals.
• Develop and engage in research proposals.

Required selection criteria

• Completion of a Norwegian doctoral degree in Business Administration, Finance or Economics research, or corresponding foreign doctoral degree recognized as equivalent to a Norwegian doctoral degree is required. 
• If you are in the final phase of your doctorate and can document that the thesis has been submitted or that the defense date has been confirmed, your application can be considered even if you have not defended. NOTE: Documentation of the obtained doctorate must be presented before you can take up the position.
• Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English

Salary and conditions

As a Postdoctoral Fellow (code 1352) you are paid gross NOK 633 400,- per annum before tax. From the salary, 2% is deducted as a contribution to the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund.

The period of employment is 3 years.

About the position

Robotic autonomy still lacks a universal architectural blueprint capable of operating across the wide diversity of robot configurations found in aerial, ground, and aquatic domains. Today’s autonomy stacks remain highly specialized to each morphology, in sharp contrast to the conserved neural organization of the mammalian brain, which provides a common computational blueprint across species despite profound differences in body plan and ecological niche. Motivated by this analogy – and building on recent advances in foundation models, neural model predictive control, and robotic world models – this PhD project will investigate principles and mechanisms for a shared autonomy architecture that generalizes across embodiments. The overarching ambition is to advance the foundations of a universal science of embodied AI, where perception, action, and learning are co-designed to support intelligent behavior in robots of fundamentally different forms. 

The PhD candidate will be supervised by Kostas Alexis, head of the Autonomous Robots Lab (ARL), and the position is part of the recently-funded Norwegian Centre for Embodied AI.

Join a nation-wide team: The Norwegian Centre for Embodied AI (NCEI), one of Norway’s six national AI centers, is recruiting outstanding researchers to advance a universal science of embodied intelligence. NCEI brings together leading robotics and AI groups with key partners from industry and the public sector to study how intelligence emerges from the interaction between body, computation, and environment, across flying, ground, and aquatic robot configurations. Our mission is to chart a generalizable path for physical AI and transform how robot morphology and autonomy are co-designed, enabling new generations of systems tailored to their operational environments and missions. About the position

Aerial robotics have scored significant successes yet – interestingly – they have long employed body morphologies that merely represent miniaturizations of manned aviation concepts or have resorted to biomimicry. However, novel missions and environments require that we look into new designs and concepts both for the robot’s morphology as well as its control and autonomy. 

To that end, soft bodies offer the possibility to create flying robots with unique capabilities. By exploiting advanced materials, we can achieve anisotropic compliance – offering softness only in the desired directions of interaction – while maintaining light weight and high control authority. Importantly, body softness can be exploited by appropriately designed control in order to achieve enhanced safety and the ability to navigate particularly cluttered and high-risk environments. In turn, deriving such control laws represents its own challenge calling for the utilization of advanced techniques including but not limited to deep reinforcement learning and model predictive control. 

The position is part of the Autonomous Robots Lab activities in resilient robotic autonomy across diverse operational conditions and environments. About the position

Foundation models represent one of the most promising avenues pushing the frontier of robot autonomy. Aiming to break new ground this PhD project focuses on developing novel foundation models for underwater robot perception and navigation. The aim is twofold: to advance foundation-model capabilities within the underwater domain, and to ensure that a unified modelling approach can operate across robot embodiments – air, ground, and marine. Achieving this requires new simulation tools, scalable neural architectures for perception and navigation that generalize across robot types, modeling of light effects underwater, and high-quality underwater datasets, both synthetic and real. The project will leverage the extensive underwater robotics infrastructure at NTNU and the Norwegian Centre for Embodied AI. 

The PhD candidate will be supervised by Kostas Alexis, head of the Autonomous Robots Lab (ARL), and the position is part of the recently-funded Norwegian Centre for Embodied AI.

Salary and conditions

In the position of PhD Candidate, code 1017, your gross salary will normally be from NOK 550 800,- per annum depending on qualifications and seniority. A 2% statutory contribution to the State Pension Fund is deducted from the salary.

About the project 

This project investigates the causal effects of Voting Advice Applications (VAAs) on political behavior. VAAs are increasingly prominent tools in modern electoral campaigns, yet rigorous causal evidence of their effects remains limited. The project leverages a collaboration with NRK (Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation), which operates one of Norway's most widely used VAAs, to run large-scale data collections and survey experiments in connection with the 2027 Norwegian election. The project aims to produce causal estimates of VAAs on vote choice, political engagement, and political knowledge. You will work with experienced researchers with a strong interest in causal inference, with the aim of publishing the research papers in top journals in Political Science.

The candidate will be attached to the Software Engineering units at the Mærsk Mc-Kinney Moller Institute in Vejle and Odense (based on final negotiations) and is also expected to participate DIAS activities and interdisciplinary cooperation in Odense regularly.
The successful applicant will be employed in accordance with the collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations for academics in the state with the associated circular on the protocol for the job structure for academic staff at Danish universities and the provisions for tenure track assistant professor as described herein. Persons employed in the position may, based on a specific individual managerial assessment, be exempted from time registration, also known as a “self-organizer”.

The tenure track programme the Faculty of Engineering is aimed at the most talented scholars who have established a high level in their current research and other professional work, and those who possess exceptional potential to achieve the highest international level within their research area. Candidates enter at the assistant professor level (for up to 6 years) and, upon successful completion, will be promoted to a permanent position associate professor, subject to a positive assessment by an expert committee. Indicators of relevant scholarly merits include documented independent scholarly output, ground-breaking publications, achievement of excellence grants, and international research network.
Teaching obligations will be reduced compared to a standard professorship at SDU, allowing more time for research and leadership activities.

To qualify for the position, you must have obtained a PhD or similar degree by the application deadline.

Martin’s Rentmeesterij is een uniek hotel, gevestigd in een prachtig historisch kader en omringd door groene tuinen. Binnen het hotel vind je onder andere Restaurant AKKO, een gastronomisch restaurant dat bekroond werd met een mooie score van 13,5/20 in Gault&Millau.

Onder leiding van Chef de Cuisine Sébastien Oger staat AKKO voor een keuken waar knowhow, passie en precisie centraal staan. Sébastien deed ervaring op in gerenommeerde sterrenrestaurants en werkte onder meer onder de vleugels van Yves Mattagne en Wout Bru.

Functie

Als Chef de Partie maak je deel uit van het keukenteam van Martin’s Rentmeesterij.

Je bent flexibel inzetbaar binnen onze keukenwerking en draait mee in de verschillende shifts, afhankelijk van de operationele noden.

Je staat onder andere in voor de voorbereiding en mise-en-place voor de verschillende diensten, het zelfstandig beheren en organiseren van jouw partie, het bereiden en dresseren van gerechten volgens de kwaliteitsstandaarden, het opvolgen van bestellingen en voorraden, een vlotte samenwerking met je collega's tijdens de service en het bewaken van kwaliteit, presentatie en hygiëne.

Bouw mee aan de toekomst van de horeca

HUGGO is een Belgische startup die het aankoopproces van horecazaken volledig digitaliseert.

Restaurants bestellen vandaag nog steeds via e-mail, telefoon, WhatsApp en verschillende webshops van leveranciers. Daardoor ontbreekt het aan overzicht, prijstransparantie en efficiëntie.HUGGO brengt alle leveranciers samen op één platform, waardoor horecazaken hun volledige aankoopproces centraal kunnen beheren, prijzen in realtime vergelijken en efficiënter samenwerken met leveranciers.

De software werd ontwikkeld vanuit onze eigen horecagroep omdat we dit probleem dagelijks zelf ervaarden.

Vandaag:

• ✅ draait een werkende software dagelijks bij verschillende horecazaken;
• ✅ zijn meer dan 70 leveranciers aangesloten;
• ✅ werd onze eerste betalende klant succesvol opgestart;
• ✅ staan meerdere horecagroepen klaar om aan te sluiten.
