Europass keeps evolving to support you at every step of your career and learning journey. The latest platform update introduces a brand-new Skill Gap tool, along with a series of improvements that make Europass clearer, more flexible and easier for everyone to use. 

See where you stand with the new Skill Gap tool 

Thinking about a new job or a career change? The new Skill Gap tool helps you understand how your current skills compare with those needed for a specific occupation or job vacancy. 

You can choose an occupation you are interested in and compare its required skills with the skills in your Europass profile. The tool shows which skills you already have and which ones you may want to develop. You can change occupation at any time to explore different career options.  

You can also use the tool directly from a job vacancy in the Find a Job section to see how well your profile matches that specific opportunity. The tool is available from your Europass Dashboard and from job vacancy pages. You can share your feedback on this new tool directly on the platform. 

A clearer and more consistent platform experience 

Several pages have been redesigned to make them easier to use on both computers and mobile devices. Interview Preparation has a new look. My Favourites now separates saved jobs from saved courses and qualifications, clearly showing which opportunities have expired.  

When you start preparing a new CV or cover letter, the options are clearer and you can quickly continue working on a recent draft. 

More guidance when building your Europass profile 

Europass provides you with guidance on how to create your profile. Moreover, the platform suggests the type of information you can add to empty sections. 

More control over your CV and cover letter 

Now the platform allows you to decide what personal information appears on your CV. Details such as gender, date of birth and nationality are no longer added automatically when you create a CV from your profile. However, you can still include these details if you wish. 

Editing your CV is also easier: actions are shown in the same order across sections, and Europass now asks you to confirm before deleting an entry. Empty CV sections can be completed or hidden with one click. 

The cover letter editor now works in the same way as the CV editor. You can complete sections in any order you like, and any missing required information is clearly highlighted before you exit the cover letter builder. 

More languages and places 

Europass is now available in Serbian Cyrillic alphabet, in addition to Serbian Latin alphabet. Uzbek and Kyrgyz have been added to the languages you can list under your language skills, and Gibraltar has been added to the country and territory lists. 

Easier to use for everyone 

Keyboard navigation is now smoother in the Prepare for your next job section of the Dashboard. Screen readers handle images more effortlessly, and the charts on the Platform Statistics page are easier to read and explore. 

More job opportunities from EURES 

Europass and EURES, the European Employment Services portal, are now even more closely connected. From your Europass Dashboard, you can browse up to 30 personalised job suggestions, each with a description. Sharing your profile with EURES is also easier: you simply need to confirm the type of job you are looking for and where you would like to work. 

Smaller improvements that make a difference 

When you upload a document to My Library, a clear indicator now shows that your file is being processed, so you know when the upload is ready. Behind the scenes, the platform's security and reliability have also been strengthened.
