You play a central role in shaping and optimizing planning and capacity management across the organization, combining strategic insight with operational leadership, ensuring efficiency, quality, and customer focus in all planning processes. Your responsibilities cover a broad range of domains, including strategy, performance management, people leadership, stakeholder collaboration, budget control, and project management.

1. Strategy:

  • You translate organizational and divisional strategy into a clear department strategy.
  • You define concrete goals, roles, and responsibilities for your team.
  • You communicate strategy and objectives clearly across the department.
  • You take ownership on strategic decisions and initiate improvement projects, advising the Workforce Planning Director.
  • You monitor market developments and translate them into opportunities for Vinçotte.

2. Performance Management:

Organizational Activities:

You are responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving the planning strategy.

People Management:

You foster a climate of trust and collaboration within your department and across divisions, continuously building a positive team spirit.

Stakeholder Management:

You work actively with Operations Managers, Operational Team Leads, and Customer Services to align planning with business and customer needs.

Budget Management & Realization:

You monitor your department’s financial results, identify deviations, and make adjustments as needed to achieve objectives.

3. Project Management:

  • You take on the role of project manager for both divisional and cross-divisional/team-wide projects aimed at optimizing planning, capacity management, and process design for Vinçotte or Kiwa.
  • You implement innovative solutions and new technologies.
  • You are responsible for drafting project plans, monitoring deadlines and budgets, and ensuring project goals are met.

Education: Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 8 years of relevant experience in operations, planning, workforce/capacity management, or process optimization.
  • Proven experience in leading teams and driving cross-departmental projects.
  • Strong background in performance monitoring, KPI management, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with planning systems and planning processes in a complex environment and transformation projects is a must

Languages: Native in Dutch or French, with a good command of the other language, and a strong working knowledge of English.

The Procurement Category Manager will be part of the Greenyard Frozen divisional team and report directly to the Division Procurement Director.

Category Strategy Development

  • Participate and implement category-specific sourcing strategies aligned with Greenyard Fozen Division objectives in cost management, quality assurance, sustainability and supply chain reliability.
  • Conduct market analysis to understand pricing trends, supplier landscapes, and seasonal variability, ensuring category strategy aligns with market conditions.

Supplier Selection and Relationship Management

  • Collaborate with finance to track budget adherence and support accurate forecasting and demand planning for the category.

Quality and Food Safety Compliance

  • Partner with Quality Assurance to ensure suppliers meet all food safety, quality certifications (e.g., HACCP, BRC), and undergo regular audits.
  • Implement and monitor quality control measures, working closely with suppliers to resolve quality issues and improve standards where needed.
  • Track and report on supplier performance metrics to ensure continuous improvement.

Data-Driven Decision Making and Reporting

  • Utilize data analytics tools to track supplier performance, analyze spend data, and forecast demand.
  • Provide regular reports and insights on category performance, supplier trends, and potential risks to the Procurement Director.
  • Use data to identify improvement areas in procurement processes and supply chain efficiency.

Sustainability and Social Compliance

  • Ensure that suppliers practices align with Greenyard ‘s sustainability  and social compliance objectives.
  • Engage with suppliers to improve sustainable practices and promote transparency across the supply chain.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in direct sourcing of raw materials in food industry or retail, including significant experience in the direct sourcing of fruits is required.
  • A Master’s degree. Procurement certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency in category management, supplier management, data analytics tools and ERP systems (SAP).
  • Value-creation oriented, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and develop cost-effective solutions.
  • Understanding of food safety standards and risk mitigation plan.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills for effective supplier management and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Resilience and Flexibility - Comfortable with the dynamic and seasonal nature of the raw material supply chain and capable of managing change effectively.
