About the project 

This position is sponsored by the European Defence Fund via the SALUBRIS project (Strategic Autonomous Logistics for Uncrewed Battlefield and Intervention System). The successful candidate will contribute to the success of the project by applying cutting edge and innovative approaches to the use cases presented by the project.

The SALUBRIS project focuses on multimodal CASEVAC, employing a mix of unmanned vehicles in different domains (land, sea, air) to perform casualty detection, recovery, and evacuation, through swarm coordination across the domains. Furthermore, the project employs sensors data fusion from available sources, including both wearable and nearable sensors, to provide autonomous triage based on the START methodology, employing explainable AI techniques to prioritize the casualties.

The successful candidate will be involved in the reliability aspects of the autonomous systems presented by the project, particularly with aspects related to the design of fault tolerance solutions in the overall architecture, and on evaluating the robustness of machine learning and data fusion solutions.


Duties of the position

  • Carry out research of good quality 
  • Academic publications and popular science dissemination
  • Participate in the System Software research Group (www.ntnu.edu/idi/ssg)
  • Apply for research funding and write applications and report on progress to funding sources 
  • Participate in international activities such as conferences and/or research stays at foreign educational institutions 
  • Mentoring students, helping them with their research projects, and advising on methodology and academic writing 
  • Participate in collaborative research activities with national and international institutions towards the success of the SALUBRIS project

Required selection criteria

  • You must have completed a doctoral degree in Computer Science.
  • If you are in the final phase of your doctorate and can document that the thesis has been submitted or that the defense date has been confirmed, your application can be considered even if you have not defended. NOTE: Documentation of the obtained doctorate must be presented before you can take up the position.
  • Good oral and written presentation skills in English.
  • Good proficiency in C/C++.
  • Good proficiency in low-level programming for embedded systems.

Salary and conditions

As a Postdoctoral Fellow (code 1352) you are normally paid from gross NOK 633 400,- per annum before tax, depending on qualifications and seniority. From the salary, 2% is deducted as a contribution to the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund.

The period of employment is 3 years.

The position is conditional on external funding from European Defence Fund via the SALUBRIS project.

Required selection criteria

  • You must have a relevant Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent. Your course of study must correspond to a five-year Norwegian course, where 120 credits have been obtained at master's level. Master students can apply, but the master's degree must be obtained and documented before starting the position and no later than 2026-07-31.
  • You must have a strong academic background from your previous studies and have an average grade from your Master's degree study, or equivalent education, which is equal to B or better compared to NTNU's grading scale. If you do not have letter grades from previous studies, you must have an equally good academic foundation. If you have a weaker grade background, you may be considered if you can document that you are particularly suitable for a PhD education.
  • You must meet the requirements for admission to the NTNU Doctoral Program in Computer Science

In the position of PhD Candidate, code 1017, your gross salary will normally be NOK 550 800,-per annum depending on qualifications and seniority. A 2% statutory contribution to the State Pension Fund is deducted from the salary. 

The employment period is 3 years for the doctoral work.

For employment as a PhD Candidate, it is a prerequisite that you gain admission to the PhD programme in Computer Science within three months of your employment contract start date, and that you participate in an organized doctoral programme throughout the period of employment.

MCH (Medisch Centrum voor Huisartsen) is een organisatie met twee poliklinieken (Leuven en Wezembeek-Oppem), een labo en een uitgebreide huisartsenwerking. Ons netwerk bestaat uit ruim 600 huisartsen, 160 medewerkers en 100 specialisten en vraagt om een heldere visie op strategische en operationele ontwikkelingen.

MCH wil de samenwerking met huisartsen verder professionaliseren en versterken en zoekt daarom een leidinggevende die deze ambitie actief mee vormgeeft.

In deze rol combineer je teamleiding, strategische communicatie en actief relatiemanagement. Als verbindingsfiguur tussen MCH en de huisarts werk je aan een sterke positionering en duurzame samenwerkingen, en breng je structuur in hoe we onze boodschappen formuleren, afstemmen op verschillende doelgroepen en via de juiste kanalen uitdragen.

Je stuurt het 3-koppige team Communicatie aan, dat verantwoordelijk is voor interne en externe communicatie, evenementen en de organisatie van nascholingen voor huisartsen.

Functieomschrijving:

  • Je vertaalt de strategische doelstellingen van MCH naar concrete communicatie-initiatieven met zichtbare impact
  • Je ontwikkelt en implementeert een geïntegreerd communicatiebeleid dat maximaal aansluit bij de noden van huisartsen, medewerkers en andere stakeholders
  • Je bouwt, samen met collega’s, het huisartsennetwerk verder uit en verdiept relaties via gerichte bezoeken en opvolging
  • Je zorgt ervoor dat alle communicatie naar huisartsen consistent, relevant en impactvol is
  • Je organiseert en coördineert nascholingen en evenementen voor huisartsen en andere zorgpartners
  • Je stuurt het communicatieteam aan en coacht de teamleden in hun verdere ontwikkeling
  • Je draagt, samen met je team, zorg voor een heldere, verbindende interne communicatie naar medewerkers en organiseert initiatieven en evenementen die de betrokkenheid versterken
  • Je bewaakt de kwaliteit en consistentie van alle communicatiekanalen (online en offline)

· Je beschikt over een masterdiploma of gelijkwaardig door ervaring

· Je hebt minstens 5 jaar relevante ervaring in een rol met combinatie van communicatie, stakeholdermanagement en/of business development

· Je hebt ervaring met leidinggeven en het ontwikkelen van een klein team

· Je hebt een sterk inzicht in relatiebeheer en netwerking, bij voorkeur binnen de zorgsector

· Je bent communicatief sterk en weet complexe boodschappen helder over te brengen, zowel mondeling als schriftelijk

· Je combineert strategisch denkvermogen met een hands-on aanpak

· Je bent ondernemend, proactief en resultaatgericht

· Je bouwt vlot duurzame relaties op en haalt energie uit externe contacten

· Je beschikt over een uitstekende kennis van het Nederlands en een goede beheersing van het Frans en Engels
