The Head of IT is responsible for leading the IT Europe unit based in Luxembourg, covering IT Oversight, Finance, Field Support, Operational readiness, Physical Security and Logistics infrastructure.
You will be the primary IT contact for the European entities headquarters, ensuring high-quality, secure and compliant IT services that support the business strategy, operational excellence and regulatory requirements.
Your role
Strategy, Governance & Architecture
• Define and implement the local IT strategy in line with Group Tech and business priorities.
• Oversee the evolution of the Luxembourg IT platform, set and monitor KPIs, and ensure effective governance and risk control.
Site Reliability Engineering
• Establish and continuously improve SRE processes, best practices, and documentation.
• Oversee the reliability, availability, and performance of critical local production systems and services.
Client Support & Service Quality
• Provide high-quality, timely and effective support to end-users in Luxembourg.
• Ensure services delivered meet or exceed the expectations of internal customers.
• Promote a culture of service excellence, continuous improvement and user satisfaction.
Stakeholder Management & Transversality
• Act as the privileged IT interlocutor for the management of group entities in Luxembourg.
• Represent IT at European level with clients, business lines, other departments or divisions and local eco-system.
• Organise and maintain regular contact with Business Lines in Luxembourg and Group Tech in Geneva, ensuring effective alignment and communication.
• Provide precise, regular and transparent reporting on IT activities, Outsourcing status, Risks, projects and performance to European Management Board and Group Tech Management.
Regulatory Compliance, Risk & Security
• Act as the main IT contact for European and local regulatory authorities on IT matters.
• Ensure compliance with DORA, MaRisk, and related regulatory frameworks by acting as the first line of defence for IT operations, while coordinating with the second line (e.g., ISRO, CISO, Chief Risk Officer) for oversight and risk management.
• Prepare for and support regulatory inspections, special audits (e.g. § 44 KWG) and internal/external audits related to IT.
• Oversee the LoD 1 management pertaining to the IT risks including RCSA performance in the area of IT.
• Ensure local IT services and external providers comply with applicable regulations in relevant jurisdictions (for outsourced services, the Head of Third-Party Risk/Outsourcing Officer and ISRO have primary oversight, but the Head of IT ensures operational compliance and incident management).
• Responsible for processes relating to the management of IT.
Outsourcing, Vendors & Financial Management
• Take end-to-end responsibility for IT outsourcing for the European perimeter.
• Supervise service levels of delegated IT activities in close collaboration with Group Tech and business lines.
• Prepare, manage and control the IT financial budget for Luxembourg / Europe, ensuring efficient use of resources and transparency of costs.
People Leadership & Culture
• Lead, develop and engage multidisciplinary IT teams (SRE, Client Support, Physical Security, Logistics).
• Establish clear objectives, delegate appropriately and support the professional development of team members.
• Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance culture, encouraging innovation, knowledge sharing and cross-team cooperation.
• Promote exemplarity, integrity and adherence to the Group's values and risk culture.
Physical Security and Building Infrastructure
• Oversee local Physical Security and Building Infrastructure (logistics), ensuring protection of the bank's premises and assets.
Your profile
Education & Experience
• Higher technical qualification in IT, computer science, engineering or equivalent.
• At least 5–8 years of experience in IT Management , ideally in a banking or financial services environment.
• Proven experience in leading multi-disciplinary IT teams and managing complex IT environments.
• Strong experience with IT risk, IT security and regulatory frameworks in financial institutions (DORA, MaRisk, etc.), including exposure to special audits (e.g. § 44 KWG).
• Experience with IT outsourcing and vendor management.
Technical & Professional Skills
• Solid understanding of Overall IT systems (including Cloud offering such as AWS, Azure).
• Solid understanding of Business applications (especially Funds systems) and their integration into banking environments.
• Solid understanding of Information security, access control, and cyber risk management.
• Strong grasp of IT governance, budgeting and cost management.
Soft skills
• Strong leadership with the ability to inspire, engage and develop teams.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of interacting effectively with all levels of hierarchy and with regulators.
• Strong client-service mindset and negotiation skills.
• Excellent organisation, able to manage multiple and shifting priorities while delegating effectively.

Languages & Mobility
• Fluent in French and English (spoken and written).
• German is a strong asset.
• Willingness to travel regularly outside Luxembourg (around 10% per month).
