Project Manager to Support DeiC's Development Projects and International Initiatives on High Performance Computing
Danmarks Tekniske Universitet
Denmark, Lyngby-Taarbæk

We are looking for a project manager who can facilitate our growing project portfolio, which includes software development, international collaboration and coordination, as well as delivering quality process support in the operations of our HPC services.

If you have a solid technical foundation and experience in creating structure in complex development projects with a broad spectrum of stakeholders, we can offer you a position in a progressive and international environment, where we work to support High Performance Computing (HPC) in Danish research.

About the job
In DeiC’s HPC department, we are involved in a variety of national and international collaborations, all centered on digital research infrastructure. We work with Denmark’s eight universities, international peers, industry, public authorities, and the other DeiC departments working with quantum computing and data management.

We help facilitate Danish researchers’ access to the LUMI supercomputer, which ranks in the Top 10 fastest in the world, as well as to the national HPC services DeiC Interactive HPC and DeiC Throughput HPC. We develop open-source software that helps our users more easily utilize supercomputers and HPC.

Within EuroHPC, we work with similar organizations across Europe to support users on supercomputers, e.g., by optimizing code, developing benchmarks, and describing best practices. A recent and notable activity is our involvement in EuroHPC's LUMI-AI Factory, which provides researchers and developers from universities, public administration, and industry with everything they need to develop and implement artificial intelligence in their tasks and products.

Your primary focus in the HPC department will be on:

  • Processes: Ensuring structure and progress in the development projects in the technical teams in the DeiC HPC department. A significant part of the role is about collaborating with developers on priorities, refinement, scheduling, and defining tasks and objectives.
  • Consultancy tasks: Preparing proposals, documentation, project reports, advisory material, and communication for users. Coordination with partners, advisory forums, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Structuring and supporting some of the operational work around the services, procedures, guides, and user contact.

Your competencies
You have experience with the development of applications and services in larger organizations and with open-source communities or similarly “loosely coupled” collaborations. Methods and ceremonies are not as important as your ability to work in a structured and quality-conscious manner, to proactively maintain focus on project objectives, and step in where progress becomes challenged.

You work in a structured and methodical way with:

  • Planning, risk management, and quality assurance
  • Delivery and time management
  • Stakeholder and vendor management
  • Escalation of deviations and risks
  • Communication and advisory tasks

In addition, you have:

  • A master’s-level education
  • An independent approach to your work. We work flexibly with staff located across Denmark
  • A strong collaborative mindset and the ability to facilitate complex work with academic colleagues across borders, institutions, and fields

It is not essential that you have experience in the HPC field, as long as you have solid technological knowledge and are familiar with current standards, trends, and requirements in today’s tech industry. In the DeiC HPC department, there is always room to learn, share knowledge, and pursue continued education wherever your motivation leads. It is therefore important that you are motivated by having responsibility for a wide variety of tasks, both strategic and practical, and can take responsibility for your own knowledge-building and skills development.

In the DeiC HPC department, we place great emphasis on collaboration and shared learning, and you will play a key role in ensuring that all our initiatives align together. Our collaborations take place across a wide variety of different constellations, so your relational approach will also be important, as will your ability to communicate excellent in English, both written and spoken.

We offer you

  • A chance to become part of a professional team dedicated to advancing HPC services for research and the public good.
  • An organization that prioritizes work-life balance and offers flexible working hours along with the option for remote work (Approx. 2 days per week)
  • Excellent opportunities for further developing your professional skills via courses, hackathons, self-study, and knowledge sharing with colleagues

Terms and practicalities
The job involves some travelling. Partly in connection with our international collaborations and visits to Danish universities, and partly for joint meetings between DeiC’s two offices in Lyngby and Aarhus. This amounts to approximately 10–15 travel days per year.

The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC) or in accordance with the CO10/LC Joint Agreement and the organization agreement for IT employees (Prosa) in the service of the state.

The workplace will be either at the DTU office at the DTU Campus in Lyngby or at the Aarhus office at the Aarhus University Campus.

Application and contact
Please submit your online application no later than 18 March 2026 (23:59 Danish time). Open the “Apply now” link, fill out the form and attach your motivated application, CV and exam certificates. Applications received after the deadline, without CV’s or without a motivated application will not be considered.

We are planning for job interviews to be in week 13.

For more information please contact Rune Gamborg Ørum at rune.oerum@deic.dk  or 45 9351 0036.

All interested candidates irrespective of age, gender, disability, race, religion or ethnic background are encouraged to apply. As DTU works with research in critical technology, which is subject to special rules for security and export control, open-source background checks may be conducted on qualified candidates for the position.

There is currently an ongoing evaluation of DeiC , which may change the organization’s strategic direction and structural placement going forward. We do not yet know the outcome, but we expect there to be a change process in the autumn of 2026.

DeiC is a unit under the Ministry of Education and Research and defined in regulation BEK615 of 23/05/2023. DeiC develops and coordinates collaboration on digital research infrastructure between universities with the aim of providing researchers with access to a digital research infrastructure enabling research and education at an international level. All employees are employed at DTU, which is the host university for DeiC. We are physically located in offices at DTU, Aarhus University, and the University of Southern Denmark and are accustomed to working together across institutions via digital platforms. We cover a spectrum of competencies from technical infrastructure and software to data management and communication and organization of events. We participate in international projects, often in collaboration with universities, utilizing these various competencies. Learn more about DeiC:  www.deic.dk

DTU develops technology for people. With our international elite research and study programmes, we are helping to create a better world and to solve the global challenges formulated in the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Hans Christian Ørsted founded DTU in 1829 with a clear mission to develop and create value using science and engineering to benefit society. That mission lives on today. DTU has 13,500 students and 6,000 employees. We work in an international atmosphere and have an inclusive, evolving, and informal working environment. Project Manager – Software Development, AI & Integrations
Site-Security A/S
Denmark, Esbjerg V

SITE-SECURITY A/S | Leading mobile security & perimeter protection solutions | New HQ | Digital transformation

We expect that you:

  • Have experience in project management within IT/software (typically 3+ years)

  • Can create structure and clarity across complex initiatives with many stakeholders

  • Managing external suppliers and cross-functional deliveries

What makes you successful in this role

  • You are structured, proactive and execution-oriented

  • You are strong in stakeholder management and expectation alignment

  • You drive decisions and ensure follow-through

  • You are motivated by delivering measurable outcomes, not just activities

Why join SITE-SECURITY A/S?

At SITE-SECURITY A/S you will get:

  • A key role with real influence on direction and delivery

  • The opportunity to work with ambitious AI and integration projects

  • A company that is leading in mobile security and perimeter protection solutions for businesses

  • Skilled colleagues and a culture built on collaboration and accountability

  • A modern workplace in a new HQ with professional facilities

Living in Denmark – and why Esbjerg is a great place to build a life

Denmark consistently ranks among the best countries in the world for work-life balance, safety, and quality of life — and for many international professionals it offers a long-term, stable environment to grow both career and family life.

Esbjerg is an exciting part of that story. The city is rapidly developing as a modern business hub, strongly connected to:

Video: https://youtu.be/Xt-yHCN5QS0

About the position

The Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering (MTP) at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) has two vacancies for PhD candidates within aluminium extrusion and forming, funded through the Centre for Research-based Innovation SFI FAST – Future Aluminium Structures.

The positions are 3-year doctoral research fellowships starting in 2026. The PhD candidates will be embedded in the forming research activities of SFI FAST and will work closely with NTNU, SINTEF, and leading international industrial partners in the aluminium value chain.

About SFI FAST – Future Aluminium Structures

SFI FAST (Future Aluminium Structures) is a national Centre for Research-based Innovation (SFI) funded by the Research Council of Norway and the aluminum industry. The centre is led by NTNU in close collaboration with SINTEF and a broad consortium of 16 leading industrial partners across the aluminium value chain. FAST runs from 2026 to 2033 and represents one of Norway’s most ambitious long-term research initiatives within aluminium materials, manufacturing technologies, and circular economy.

The primary objective of FAST is to establish the scientific and technological knowledge base required to enable the large-scale use of post-consumer scrap (PCS) aluminium in high-value, structural, and safety-critical products. FAST adopts a through-scale and through-process research methodology, integrating materials science, manufacturing processes, product and structural design, and lifecycle performance.

A key outcome of FAST is the development of the FAST Virtual Lab, a digital framework combining experimental data, physics-based models, and data-driven methods to support design, manufacturing, and decision-making across aluminium value chains.

Education and competence building are central pillars of FAST. The centre will educate more than 18 PhD and postdoctoral researchers and over 100 MSc students, strengthening Norway’s international position in aluminium research and innovation. The two positions posted here will be among the first ones to start in the centre.

Please see the centre’s website: Future Aluminium Structures (FAST) - NTNU

PhD position 1: Aluminium Extrusion of Recycled Materials

This PhD position focuses on aluminium extrusion of profiles based on high recycled content. The research will address process–microstructure–property relationships, weld integrity, die design, and product quality in extrusion of complex profiles from post-consumer scrap aluminium.

The use of PCS in the production of structural components (i.e. automotive) is currently limited but is expected to grow as more stringent sustainability requirements and regulations come into effect. The candidate will establish and validate numerical forming simulations, predict PCS effects on seam- and charge weld quality, surface quality, integrate microstructure and texture evolution into the models, integrate quenching sequence in modelling, conduct industrial experiments, and demonstrate validity through use-cases in the project. The foci of the research work include practical experiments (including extrusion experiments, and mechanical/microstructure characterization tests), theoretical analysis, and numerical simulation.

The candidate will work in collaboration with industrial partners and needs to be responsible for reporting progress and delivering outputs to the FAST centre.

Duties of the PhD position 1

  • Study, prototype and validate extrusion processes mechanisms for improved accuracy and mechanical properties.
  • Investigate the impact of thermal-mechanical processing on the subsequent forming processes and end-product quality.
  • Perform mechanical and microstructural testing, characterization and analysis to assess the properties of material and components.
  • Investigate the process behaviours, mechanisms and models to improve and optimize the process capabilities.
  • Conduct and publish high-level research at peer-reviewed journals and international conferences.
  • Work closely with industry and employ the industry-as-laboratory concept for extrusion trials and studies.
  • Participate and contribute to research group and FAST WP3 (Forming) activities, including mentoring and supervising MScs.

PhD position 2: Forming Processes for Recycled Aluminium

This PhD position addresses the state of the art in advanced forming of recycled aluminium, focusing on cold and hot forming technologies such as forging, bending, and profile forming of aluminium alloys with high post-consumer scrap (PCS) content. The research targets critical challenges related to formability, process robustness, surface integrity, and properties under increased material variability, and aims to develop adaptive and resilient forming strategies suitable for next-generation sustainable manufacturing.

The candidate will develop, establish, and validate advanced numerical forming models, integrating thermo-mechanical behavior, microstructure evolution, and sub-sequent process requirements. These physics-based models can/will be complemented by data-driven and hybrid modelling approaches, combining experimental data, process monitoring, and machine-learning methods to enhance predictive capability and enable adaptive process control. Experimental work will include laboratory- and industrial-scale forming trials, supported by comprehensive mechanical testing and microstructural characterization, with validation through representative industrial use cases within the project.

The research is explicitly aligned with Industry 5.0 principles, emphasizing human-centric, sustainable, and resilient manufacturing, where digital tools, advanced models, and experimental insight are combined to support circular aluminium value chains and robust industrial implementation.
