Role accountabilities: As a (Senior) Fire Safety Project Manager (f/m/d) you play a central role in the planning, management, and successful implementation of fire protection and safety concepts in complex data center and high-tech projects. You are responsible for developing innovative and standards-compliant fire protection solutions that meet the highest requirements for safety and operational reliability. In doing so, you work closely with clients, internal departments, and external partners, making a significant contribution to the protection of critical infrastructures. - Lead the planning, design and implementation of fire protection and safety concepts for data center and high‑tech construction projects. - Develop project‑specific fire protection solutions (structural, system-based and organizational measures) in line with applicable regulations and standards. - Specify and integrate detection and suppression systems (e.g. sprinklers, EN/VdS‑compliant fire alarm systems, gaseous suppression systems such as NOVEC/FMX). - Perform hazard assessments, risk analyses and scenario evaluations (including evacuation and business‑interruption impact). - Coordinate closely with architects, MEP designers, infrastructure teams, contractors and authorities to ensure seamless interface management. - Manage approval procedures, witness FAT/SAT commissioning tests and monitor implementation during construction. - Produce and maintain all project documentation (concepts, calculations, test records, handover packs) and report progress to project management and clients. - Ensure the operational readiness and functional performance of all fire safety measures up to handover; contribute to operational and emergency response plans. Qualifications & Experience: First and foremost, you share our passion for improving quality of life and for customer satisfaction. You are technically skilled, have relevant experience in managing building and infrastructure projects, and bring with you: - Degree (Bachelor’s/Master’s) or equivalent qualification in Fire Protection Engineering, Safety Engineering, Civil/Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. - Minimum 5 years’ proven experience in designing and delivering fire protection and safety systems, preferably in data centers, high‑tech or industrial facilities. - Deep knowledge of relevant standards and regulations (e.g. NFPA 75/72/101, EN standards, DIN, VdS guidelines and national fire codes). - Practical experience with selection/integration of suppression and detection systems and with testing, commissioning and handover procedures (FAT/SAT). - Proficiency in CAD/BIM tools (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit); experience with fire and smoke modelling tools (e.g. FDS/PyroSim) is an advantage. - Strong analytical skills, structured working approach and attention to detail. - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging authorities and clients. - Team player with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary project teams. - Fluent German and English, both written and spoken. - Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as project needs require.
