About Userlink
Userlink builds AI agents for e-commerce. The platform orchestrates AI agents that interact with customer systems through API integrations, actions, and real-time data sources. The agents handle product recommendations, order status, returns, and conversion optimization autonomously. This is a full agent architecture, not a chatbot framework with prompt templates.
We have paying customers, growing revenue, and a product in production. The team is 7 people based in Odense C. We build fast, ship often, and we need a CTO who actually codes.
The role
We're looking for a CTO. But not a "CTO" in the classic sense who sits in meetings and builds roadmaps.
We're looking for someone who LOVES to code. Someone who walks in Monday morning excited to build. Someone who has their hands on the keyboard every day.
This is a hands-on role. You write code daily AND you set technical direction. You hold the bigger picture and ship the code that moves the product forward.
Hands-on:
You code every day. Not 10% of your time, more like 60-70%
You build features, fix bugs, refactor critical parts
You make the hard technical calls and write the code that solves them yourself
Lead:
You set direction on stack, architecture, and engineering standards
You onboard, mentor, and grow the rest of the tech team
You're the CEO's sparring partner on product and prioritization
Operations:
You own uptime, performance, and platform stability
You set the bar for code review, deploys, and monitoring
AI-assisted development tools are an integrated part of our workflow. We use Cursor, Claude Code, and similar tools every day. You're expected to leverage them for speed AND to validate the output critically. We're not looking for people who accept AI-generated code uncritically.
Who we're looking for
You've written code most of your professional life and have deep production experience. We expect at least 7 years of professional experience, but depth matters more than years. You've built and maintained systems at scale and you know what technical debt costs.
You have strong understanding across frontend and backend. You work independently without close direction because you've done this before and you know what works. You're pragmatic, you pick the right solution, not the most elegant one. You take ownership of what you build and have opinions on how it should be built.
You take AI/LLM work seriously, or you're ready to go all-in on it.
You're physically in Odense at least 3 days a week.
Who you are NOT
Someone who wants to be "just a CTO" and stop coding
Someone who built a management career and sees hands-on as a step backward
Someone who needs others to make the decisions
We offer
Competitive salary plus equity in the company
Real ownership. You shape the product and the team
Short path from idea to production
Direct influence on product and architecture
Training twice a week during work hours with paid fitness membership
Padel on Wednesdays
