As our new Data Engineer, you will play a central role in developing and improving the data infrastructure that powers ad sales across all Viaplay markets. We’ve built a solid foundation that supports our operations today, and we’re now looking for someone to take ownership of it - improving and strengthening what’s already in place, while also influencing architecture and shaping how the platform evolves. This is a hands-on engineering role. In a small team, you will work across the full data lifecycle - from pipeline development and orchestration to data modelling, ensuring the right data reaches the right people. Your day-to-day will include: • Building and maintaining data pipelines that power ad sales reporting and operations across Sweden, Norway, and Denmark • Structuring and modelling data so it is clean, consistent, and genuinely useful to the business • Identifying and resolving issues in existing pipelines, reducing manual work and improving reliability • Translating needs from stakeholders into solid technical solutions • Contributing to architectural decisions as the platform evolves We actively use AI-assisted tools as part of our development workflow to improve efficiency and speed up delivery. We expect engineers to use these tools effectively, while critically evaluating outputs and maintaining full ownership of the systems they build. What we’re looking for  We understand you may feel confident ticking certain boxes more than others and that’s why we always keep an open mind in our recruitment process. But, in order to thrive in this role, we do believe you’ll have at least some experience in the following:  • Solid, production-level data engineering experience - you have done this before and know what good looks like • Strong skills in Python and/or C#, with confident SQL and hands-on database experience, relational databases such as SQL Server and PostgreSQL. • Experience working with cloud-based data platforms, particularly in Azure environments. • Experience building and maintaining data pipelines using orchestration tools (such as Airflow or Meltano), along with a solid understanding of data warehouse principles (e.g. dimensional modelling, data quality, and performance optimisation) • Experience using AI-assisted coding tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Claude) in a development workflow • Comfortable working autonomously in a small team, with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to drive work forward without much hand-holding It’s a bonus if you have:  • Experience with ad sales, digital advertising data, or media industry systems • A can-do attitude, sense of humor and the ability to work humbly with others.
