Within Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology’s Strategy and Business Development function, about 20 professionals in the fields of Strategy/M&A, Market Intelligence and Business Development hold the mission to stay on top of global trends and recent developments in our key end markets, competitor activity and emerging technology and provide world-class strategy support across our entire 37 billion SEK business (2017). To the Strategy/M&A team - responsible for the annual strategy development process - we are now looking for a Strategy Manager to join us in an exciting environment with highly varying tasks and stakeholders all over the world.
This position is based in Stockholm and travel is a natural part of the job.
Your mission – Taking theoretical strategy work into practical implementation in a range of dimensions
As Strategy Manager, you coordinate the division’s and sales areas’ annual strategic planning cycles and bring structure, insights, improvements and functional expertise to this process. You drive ad-hoc strategy projects together with stakeholders from across the business, and proactively engage with the business to identify opportunities or gaps where improved strategic clarity would create value. In addition you are responsible for the strategic deal pricing and bundling forum where top decision-makers align on strategy for our biggest and most important customers. As an advocate for strategic pricing you engage Business Line Manager and Key Customer Managers to support decision-making on large and mission critical deals.
Your character – An unpretentious doer who moves easily at all levels of an organization
We are looking for someone with a Master’s in Business, Economics or Finance and who have in-depth knowledge in all aspects of financial analysis and experience in working with cross-functional global teams. We see that you have practiced as a management / strategy consultant in a top tier firm, and assignments in manufacturing or industrial goods sector and handling strategic pricing or front-line strategy work are beneficial experiences. As we operate in a truly global setting, you are fluent in English, both verbally and in writing. Skills in Swedish or Spanish are also useful.
We are truly fascinated by your personality; characterized by being a self-motivated team player who likes to balance independent work and personal drive, with management of large groups of stakeholders with different backgrounds and opinions. You have top-notch stakeholder management and communication skills, and combined with an ambitious mindset, you are able to shape storyline and messaging for executive and board level audience. Furthermore, you have strong self-awareness leading you to develop and seek feedback.
