Within Vattenfall, Corporate Risk Management is tasked with holistic risk management duties on the enterprise level. The team Strategic Risk is part of Corporate Risk Management, and is responsible for identifying and assessing fundamental and long-term wholesale price risks, their impact on the energy market and the strategic implications for Vattenfall. Statistical analyses, modelling, a deep knowledge of the fundamentals of the power market as well as of Vattenfall’s asset portfolio form the basis of the work, which comprises ad-hoc strategic analyses on senior management’s request, calculation of the fair value of the Vattenfall production assets, reporting of the long-term risk exposure of Vattenfall, independent review of Vattenfall’s proprietary Long-Term Market Outlook, as well as examinations of the asset valuation methods and dispatch models that are used for investment/divestment decisions. Main Tasks & Responsibilities As a Quantitative Analyst in the Strategic Risk team, you will partly be working on the model development and analysis of the inhouse-built valuation model for the entire production asset portfolio of Vattenfall. This is used both for the valuation of the Group asset portfolio as well as for ad-hoc requests by senior management to support strategic decision-making. Moreover, you will be involved in big investment projects (>10 million EUR) – of which the valuation is based on complex models and methodologies – through close cooperation with valuation analysts and through contributing to the independent review of the project. Finally, you will also be contributing to the independent review duties with respect to the Long-Term Market Outlook (for e.g. power, gas, coal, CO2, etc) that forms the basis for investment valuations and the Group’s strategic positioning. The Partnership Development team, based in Stockholm, work with bringing Toca Boca experiences to kids outside Apple, Google Play and Amazon marketplaces. The Stockholm Development team work closely with and are part of the wider Toca Boca Partnership team based in San Francisco. Role overview The Stockholm Partnership Development team require an additional developer with a great eye for the Android platform and interest in exploring other mobile and handheld platforms. In this role you will be responsible for (Android) native and Unity specific development for all past and future Toca Boca apps and for bringing them to our partner platforms. This will include creative problem solving to work around technical specification challenges related to non-Apple, Google Play and Amazon platforms, as well as gameplay thinking and gameplay adaption/ creation to add Partner specific or bespoke characteristics depending on the intended partner /platform. Research assistant

There is a vacancy for two 50% Research assistant positions at Mediafutures: Research Centre for Responsible Media Technology & Innovation, the Department of Information Science and Media Studies, University of Bergen. The positions are for a fixed-term period of up to 2 years.

Research assistant is a recruitment position where the main task is to be a supporting entity to the academic staff in their instructional and research endeavors. The position will provide the opportunity to gain insight into scientific work and methodology. Total employment cannot exceed two years.

About MediaFutures

MediaFutures is a new centre for research-based innovation at the Department of information science and media studies, University of Bergen, and will be located at Media City Bergen. The centre is a part of the Norwegian Research Council’s Research-based Innovation scheme. MediaFutures will in cooperation with industry partners from news media and media technology research topics like media experiences, recommender technology, content production and analysis, content interaction and availability, and Norwegian language technology. The goal is to develop responsible technological solutions to societal challenges like AI, fake news, echo chambers and political polarization. The results will be new digital tools, analytical methods and content types for the future of media. The centre will also perform research training within media technology and innovation. This will create outputs such as new patents, prototypes, research articles and software, as well as innovative start-up companies.

About the work tasks:

  • The Research Assistant will support the Centre Director in scientific, technical and administrative tasks and reports to the Centre Director. Work tasks include:
  • Contribute to research and innovation projects and proposals where the director of MediaFutures is involved, e.g., with programming tasks, data collection tasks, and setting up research infrastructure.
  • Other administrative and support tasks on demand delegated by the director.

Qualifications and personal qualities:

  • The applicant should as a minimum be a bachelor’s student in information or media science, computer science or relevant disciplines.
  • The position requires ICT competences.
  • It requires programming skills.
  • Proficiency in both written and oral English and Norwegian.
  • Structured and solution-oriented team player who thrives in a work environment with expectations of high levels of performance.
  • Knowledge of the centre’s activities, media and/or technology industry is a benefit.

We can offer:

  • A good and professionally challenging working environment.
  • Gross annual salary as research assistant for bachelor students (code 1018) NOK 455 000,-. For candidates with a bachelor’s degree (code 1019), the gross annual salary will be NOK 470 200.-. For candidates with a master’s degree (code 1020), the annual salary will be NOK 519 400,-. The salary mentioned is for a 100% position.
  • Enrolment in the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund.

  • Primary workplace is Media City Bergen.

Wie ben jij?

Je combineert technische kennis met een pragmatische aanpak en weet anderen mee te krijgen in veiligheid en duurzaamheid.

  • Je beschikt over een diploma preventieadviseur niveau 2
  • Je hebt ervaring in een productieomgeving en/of de bouwsector
  • Je hebt ervaring met ISO-certificering
  • Je communiceert vlot in het Nederlands en weet jezelf te behelpen in het Frans
  • Je werkt zelfstandig en neemt initiatief
  • Je bent oplossingsgericht en denkt praktisch mee
