DANEMO (the Danish EMBL Node) is looking for a curious and creative student assistant who wants hands-on experience working at the intersection of science, communication, and international collaboration. DANEMO connects Danish researchers and universities with the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), one of Europe’s leading research organizations, and helps promote training opportunities, networking, and collaboration across the life science community.
As our student assistant, you will work closely with the DANEMO coordination team and help shape how we communicate with researchers across Denmark and internationally. You will contribute to newsletters, website updates, and social media, helping us highlight exciting research opportunities, events, and collaborations within the EMBL network. This role offers room to bring your own ideas and creativity, especially when it comes to developing DANEMO’s social media presence and making our communication engaging and visible to the community.
This is a great opportunity for a student who is interested in science communication, digital outreach, and international research networks, and who would like practical experience building communication skills in a dynamic and international environment.
As our student assistant, you will support the DANEMO coordinators with communication and administrative tasks that help maintain and develop DANEMO’s outreach activities.
Your tasks will include, for example:
- Preparing and distributing the DANEMO newsletter
- Updating and maintaining the DANEMO website
- Assisting with DANEMO social media communication
- Supporting communication related to DANEMO events and opportunities
- Preparing communication materials and online content
- Providing general administrative support for DANEMO activities
The position provides valuable experience in science communication and international research collaboration.
We are looking for a motivated and organized student with an interest in science communication and research environments.
We expect that you:
- Are currently enrolled as a student at a university
- Have strong written and spoken English skills
- Are comfortable working with digital communication platforms
- Have good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Are able to work independently and take initiative
- Have an interest in research, science communication, or international collaboration

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the multi-union collective agreement for the Organisations of Public Employees—Denmark (State) (OAO-S) and the trade union agreement for clerical staff etc. (HK/State).
Working hours are 6 hours per week and can be organized flexibly in relation to holidays, exams, etc.
Starting date is 1 June 2026 (or according to mutual agreement). The position is available as long as you remain an active student, with funding currently secured until 31 December 2027.
The workplace is DTU Lyngby Campus.

This international apprenticeship programme in Denmark is designed as an entry level vocational education for those who want to learn metal fabrication from the ground up. You will combine education with paid work, gain practical craftsmanship skills and build a solid foundation for a long term career within metalwork and industrial production.
The Blacksmith / Metal Fabricator education is a 4-year vocational program, officially recognised within the Danish education system and aligned with EU standards.
The education alternates between:
Periods at vocational school
Practical training as an apprentice in a Danish company, pre-selected before you arrive in Denmark
During the program, you will gain strong, job-relevant skills in metal fabrication, welding and steel construction, used in industrial production, construction and machinery manufacturing
You will learn to:
Weld using MIG/MAG and TIG methods
Work with steel, stainless steel and aluminium
Read and work from technical drawings
Measure, test and ensure quality and precision
Cut, form and assemble metal components
Use workshop machines such as presses, rollers and bending equipment
Build, install and maintain metal structures
Apply mathematics and physics in practical craftsmanship
The education prepares you directly for work in modern European industry and construction. No prior professional experience in metalwork or welding is required, what matters most is your motivation and interest.

Your role
Take technical ownership of customer inquiries and convert application requirements into optimized, validated bearing solutions
Perform and support calculations, lifetime analysis, load cases, and application assessments
Work closely with customers’ engineering teams to define requirements, interfaces, and performance criteria
Contribute to technical documentation, validation packages, and internal processes supporting safe and compliant project execution
You will be responsible for
Managing technically complex projects and advising customers based on engineering analysis
Acting as the primary technical contact for OEMs, system suppliers, and research institutions
Coordinating engineering-related activities across Sales, Engineering, Operations, and Quality
Supporting technical presentations at exhibitions, conferences, and industry forums
Contributing to case studies, technical notes, and application documentation
What We Expect from You/ What you bring
Solid experience and network within Space, Aerospace or Defense industries
Engineering background with strong technical understanding (mechanics, materials, bearings, tribology)
Knowledge of documentation requirements in regulated industries (NDA, ITAR, EN9100, ISO, AS9XXX)
Excellent communication skills in English; German and/or French are a plus
High degree of independence, structure, and strategic thinking
Education & Experience:
