Oenologist with Expertise in Old and New World Wines, the production of Distilled and the production of Mead.
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Oenologist to join our start-up winery. As an Oenologist, you will be responsible for overseeing the production, quality control, and development of a wide range of wines. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate wine expert to showcase their skills and contribute to the success of our unique wine domain (Sterreheim).
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with our winemaking team to cultivate and maintain vineyards, ensuring optimal grape production and vine health;
Maintaining our bee colonies;
Managing all stages of winemaking, from pruning and harvesting to lab work, including fermentation monitoring, blending, aging, and bottling;
Conduct sensory evaluations of wines, distilled and mead, assessing their quality, aroma, taste, and overall characteristics;
Provide training to staff members on various aspects of winemaking, ensuring a consistent and high standard of wine production;
Assist in vineyard development activities, such as vine selection, planting, pruning, and pest management;
Offer wine consultancy services to clients, providing expert advice on wine selection, pairing, and cellar management;
Stay up to date with industry trends, advancements, and emerging practices related to winemaking techniques and viticulture;
Maintain detailed records and documentation of vineyard and winemaking operations.
