We are seeking up to two postdocs to join our research team that focusses on many aspects of the study of evolved stars on the asymptotic giant branch (AGB) and/or in the red supergiant (RSG) phase. The research team is part of the vibrant astronomy research environment encompassing Chalmers' divisions for Astronomy and plasma physics and the Onsala Space Observatory. About us At the Division of Astronomy and Plasma Physics (AoP), we investigate the origins and evolution of the Universe – from star and planet formation to galaxy dynamics and the physics of fusion plasmas. Through international collaboration we combine theory, observation and technical innovation to advance astrophysical knowledge and develop the next generation of research methods. We also work in close collaboration with Onsala Space Observatory (OSO) – the Swedish national facility for Radio Astronomy. The observatory also hosts the Nordic ALMA Regional Center Node and the Sweden SKA regional centre. Both AoP and OSO will soon be part of the new Chalmers Physics and Astronomy Department. The new department will provide a creative and innovative environment for research, learning and outreach. Motivating examples include the spatio-temporal dynamics of sweat droplets, interacting cellular or tissue shapes, and geometric structures arising in vegetation such as tree canopies. The work combines spatial point process models for the emergence and arrangement of objects (including birth-death dynamics, merging, and non-overlap constraints) with methods from shape analysis, in particular stochastic dynamics for shape change. A further aspect of the project is learning and calibrating these models from data using data-driven inference methods. Od kandidáta zároveň očakávame, že - bude v regióne dostatočne mobilný (vlastné motorové vozidlo nutnosťou), nakoľko školenia prebiehajú v rôznych mestách, resp. obciach okresov - podľa požiadavky. - pracuje systematicky a nebojí sa ani súvisiacej administratívy (ktorá predstavuje menšiu časť náplne práce) - je spoľahlivý a dochvíľny (na vašu dochvíľnosť je naviazaných denne niekoľko účastníkov kurzov a organizačný tím na pozadí), - chce zodpovedne odvádzať dobrú prácu, za ktorú si zaslúži primeranú a vopred dohodnutú odmenu - Upozorňujeme, že spolupráca je časovo ohraničená približne do 03-04/2026, max. 06/2026. Vyhradzujeme si právo reagovať len vybraným záujemcom, ktorí predložia riadne vyplnené CV, ktoré musí obsahovať okrem iných podstatných náležitostí najmä predchádzajúce pracovné skúsenosti a informáciu o najvyššom ukončenom vzdelaní. Modelová odmena je 1800 EUR mesačne za 13 riadne zrealizovaných skupín (5 dni x 3 skupiny x 5 týždňov) a alikvotne v prípade vyškolenia menšieho počtu skupín. Dochádzka do práce (do školiacich miestností) nie je zamestnancom preplácaná.
