Vid Naturvetenskapliga fakulteten bedrivs forskning och utbildning inom biologi, astronomi, fysik, geovetenskap, kemi, matematik och miljövetenskap. Verksamheten bedrivs vid nio institutioner samlade inom norra universitetsområdet. Fakulteten har ca 1500 studenter, 330 forskarstuderande och 700 anställda. Centrum för miljö- och klimatforskning, CEC (http://www. cec.lu.se/sv/) bedriver forskning, utbildning och kommunikation om miljövetenskap och klimatforskning vid Lunds universitet. Det finns en ökad efterfrågan på formaliserad vetenskaplig kunskap som grund för olika typer av beslut kring miljö och fysisk planering. Med tanke på fragmenteringen av den vetenskapliga kunskapen och bristen på formella strukturer för att inkludera vetenskapliga bevis i fysisk planering, fattas beslut ofta utan systematisk redogörelse för tillgängliga bevis. Samtidigt argumenteras det för att medborgares syn och preferenser samt praktikers kunskaper bör integreras i beslut kring en stadsutveckling. Denna situation kräver en beslutsstruktur som har kapaciteten att inkorporera vetenskaplig information med medborgarnas uppfattningar och praktikers kunskaper. Arbetsuppgifter Postdoktorprojektet kommer att fokusera på processer och metoder för hur vetenskaplig information, medborgares uppfattningar och praktikers kunskaper kan integreras i en framtida hållbar fysisk planering. Fokus kommer ligga på urbana områden även om relationen mellan stad och landsbygd är av intresse. Som metod kommer en kombination av litteraturstudier, kvalitativa intervjuer och enkäter användas med utgångspunkt i fallstudiemetodik. Postdoktorn förväntas bidra till arbetet i forskargruppen ”green space governance” genom att vara involverad i flera av dess pågående forskningsprojekt. Forskningen kommer beröra olika aspekter av green space governance i) användning av ekologisk och miljövetenskaplig information ii) analys av verktyg, rutiner, checklistor och modeller som används för att skapa underlag och ta beslut av svenska kommuner iii) utveckling av och forskning om scenarier för ett mer hållbart urbant stadsutrymme iv) olika intressentgruppers uppfattning om syftet med grönt och blått utrymme och dess möjlighet för att skapa ett mer hållbart samhälle v) utveckling av modeller för förbättrad interaktion mellan forskare och intressenter. En mer exakt plan för postdoktorprojektet kommer att utvecklas tillsammans med forskargruppen. Forskningen måste beröra ett eller flera ovan nämnda ämnen men kan vara mer teoretisk eller empirisk, beroende på kandidatens kunskaper och intressen. The postdoctoral researcher will drive the scale-up of an innovative membrane-based process for the extraction and valorisation of humic substances from digestate, advancing the technology from bench to pilot scale (TRL 4–5). The work encompasses three main areas: (1) process optimisation, using AI-assisted experimental design to identify optimal operating conditions and maximise product yield while minimising costs; (2) product development and quality benchmarking, characterising the produced fractions against commercial standards and working with industrial stakeholders to define market-ready product specifications; and (3) scale-up preparation, including bottleneck analysis and a techno-economic assessment to establish the roadmap for industrial implementation. Our work provides decision support for policy makers, industry stakeholders, and researchers by delivering actionable insights into resource use efficiency, circularity, and environmental impacts across scales—from products and cities to global supply chains. You will work on life cycle assessment in various contexts, spanning from industrial processes to territorial analyses and national and international policies. In addition, you will contribute to the assessment of impacts on ecosystems and the provision of ecosystem services, integrating biodiversity and natural capital considerations into sustainability assessment frameworks. Your specific activities will include (but are not limited to): Developing and implementing algorithms for automated process discovery based on event logs in the context of logistics systems. Developing and implementing methods for performance analysis, including bottleneck detection and compliance deviation analysis, using state-of-the-art process mining tools. Developing and implementing algorithms to explore and propose “what-if” scenarios to support strategic planning and decision making in logistics. Validating analytical models and algorithms in a sandbox environment designed for controlled experimentation. Disseminating project results through internal project reports and deliverables, scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals, conferences and presentations at industry events.
