Med tanke på fragmenteringen av den vetenskapliga kunskapen och bristen på formella strukturer för att inkludera vetenskapliga bevis i fysisk planering, fattas beslut ofta utan systematisk redogörelse för tillgängliga bevis. Samtidigt argumenteras det för att medborgares syn och preferenser samt praktikers kunskaper bör integreras i beslut kring en stadsutveckling. Denna situation kräver en beslutsstruktur som har kapaciteten att inkorporera vetenskaplig information med medborgarnas uppfattningar och praktikers kunskaper. Arbetsuppgifter Postdoktorprojektet kommer att fokusera på processer och metoder för hur vetenskaplig information, medborgares uppfattningar och praktikers kunskaper kan integreras i en framtida hållbar fysisk planering. Fokus kommer ligga på urbana områden även om relationen mellan stad och landsbygd är av intresse. Som metod kommer en kombination av litteraturstudier, kvalitativa intervjuer och enkäter användas med utgångspunkt i fallstudiemetodik. Postdoktorn förväntas bidra till arbetet i forskargruppen ”green space governance” genom att vara involverad i flera av dess pågående forskningsprojekt. Forskningen kommer beröra olika aspekter av green space governance i) användning av ekologisk och miljövetenskaplig information ii) analys av verktyg, rutiner, checklistor och modeller som används för att skapa underlag och ta beslut av svenska kommuner iii) utveckling av och forskning om scenarier för ett mer hållbart urbant stadsutrymme iv) olika intressentgruppers uppfattning om syftet med grönt och blått utrymme och dess möjlighet för att skapa ett mer hållbart samhälle v) utveckling av modeller för förbättrad interaktion mellan forskare och intressenter.
