Research data and application specialist for microscopy (f/m/d)
firstly for a fixed-term period until April 4th, 2027 to cover parental leave. The position in full time with a salary of TV-L E13 is available immediately for the right candidate.
The LIN offers user access and comprehensive training on fluorescence, confocal, STED and lightsheet microscopes. In addition to post processing and analysis of the acquired imaging data, there is a need for an implementation of state-of-the-art analysis pipelines by using existing and novel computational tools. Moreover, we aim at improving our research data management infrastructure, which includes all steps of the research data life cycle for microscopy and bioimage analysis.
Your tasks
• Development of a research data management infrastructure for microscopy based on FAIR principles
• Support of scientific studies using fluorescence, confocal, STED or light sheet microscopy (including clearing and expansion techniques) and corresponding 3D/4D image processing and analysis software
• Partizipation in organsation and conducting of seminars, workshops
Your profile:
• Masters or PhD degree in biology, bio(medical) informatics or computational biology, or similar background
• hands-on experience in using confocal and lightsheet microscopy, professional software packages for bioimage processing and analysis (e.g. Zeiss Arivis Pro incl. VR, Imaris) and open source packages,
• experience in applying clearing protocols to biological samples (e.g. i-Disco, ECi) or Cubic based clearing is a plus
• experience of sample preparation for immunohistochemistry of different biological samples
• basic knowledge in a high-level programming language (e.g. Python), Linux operating system and shell scripting is a plus
• ability to perform team-oriented as well as independent work
• excellent communications skills, also in English to be able to articulate clearly technical needs, set clear goals and work within an interdisciplinary setting, communicate with partners

Key Responsibilities:

Qualification Requirements:
1. Master’s degree or above in a relevant field such as Electrochemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Energy and Power Engineering, Renewable Energy, or Electrical Engineering.
2. Solid R&D experience in the field of electrocatalysis.
3. Experience as a core member of research teams at renowned universities or research institutes, with familiarity in the development process of CO₂ electrocatalytic fuel catalysts, electrodes, and equipment.
4. Proven end-to-end experience in catalyst research (from frontier research → laboratory scale → pilot scale-up → application), with the ability to lead a team in rapid technology iteration.
5. Solid research experience in electrochemical catalysis (e.g., CO₂ conversion, electrochemical synthesis of alcohols/ammonia, fuels, water electrolysis for hydrogen production, fuel cells), along with team leadership capabilities.
6. Very good English skills are required; German and/or Chinese is an advantage.

Within Global Engineering, the Commissioning & Qualification (C&Q) Manager has overall responsibility for the compliant, in time and in budget delivery of Commissioning & Qualification deliverables. The Commissioning & Qualification Manager reports to the PTT Regional Head of C&Q. Work is self-directed in nature. Projects / initiatives can vary in both length of time and complexity, requiring extensive cross-functional collaboration and agile execution strategies in support of GMP manufacturing operations, affiliates and CMOs. The position requires excellent internal and external collaboration and influencing skills and the ability to lead diverse, cross-functional teams.

The Opportunity
As a C&Q Manager, you will act as a Sub-Project Manager within Global Engineering, driving excellence in a dynamic and collaborative team environment.
You will:
* Lead Cross-Functional Teams: Motivate and inspire diverse teams during the C&Q phase, setting clear expectations and fostering a "one team" culture.
* Drive Project Success: Manage C&Q project scope to ensure deliverables are met within the approved budget and schedule.
* Ensure Global Compliance: Execute all deliverables in full alignment with the Roche Pharmaceutical Quality Management System (PQS) and international regulatory standards.
* Innovate and Challenge: Identify better ways to accomplish objectives by introducing best practices and innovation for C&Q Capex project management.
* Partner Strategically: Proactively build trustful relationships with key stakeholders and customers to support Roche’s strategic business goals.
Who you are
You bring:
* A University Degree in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline.
* Bachelor with 6-8 years experience, Master with 5-7 years experience in the (bio)pharmaceutical industry, specifically in sterile drug product manufacturing or qualification.
* You have gained particular experience in leading a drug product sterile filling facility commissioning and qualification, leading the commissioning and qualification of packaging and autoinjector assembly, as well as in the commissioning and qualification of cleanroom systems.
* Deep knowledge of C&Q strategies (ASTM E2500), risk-based approaches, and global regulations (FDA, EMA, ICH).
* Proficient in both German and English (written and spoken) with the ability to adjust your style to various audiences.
* Travel (20%) may be required to meet the business need, in order to lead the team at the project site/location. Expectation if assigned to a specific project during design or construction it is required to spend most of the time on site.
This is a 100% full time role and locally based in potential future EU sites and / or Mannheim / Penzberg.
