The Faculty of Culture and Society
The Faculty of Culture and Society is a multidisciplinary faculty that includes the School of Arts and Communication, the Department of Global Political Studies and the Department of Urban Studies. The Faculty has two areas of postgraduate education: New media, public spheres and forms of expression (NMOG), offering postgraduate education in the subject areas of Media and Communication Studies and Interaction Design; and Migration, Urbanisation and Societal Change (MUSA), offering postgraduate education in the subject areas of Urban Studies and International Migration and Ethnic Relations (IMER). Global Politics will now be added as a third interdisciplinary postgraduate research area within the Department of Global Political Studies.
Department of Global Political Studies
The Department of Global Political Studies is a multidisciplinary research and educational environment consisting of eight subjects: European Studies, Peace and Conflict Studies, Gender Studies, International Migration and Ethnic Relations (IMER), International Relations, Caucasus Studies, Human Rights, and Political Science. The Department’s educational programmes and research focus on global processes of change and their impact on societies and individuals. Our research environment also includes MIM (Malmö Institute for Studies of Migration, Diversity and Welfare) and the research platform RUCARR (Russia and the Caucasus Regional Research).
The researcher will be part of a team in the international NoVaMigra (“Norms and Values in the European Refugee and Migration Crisis”) consortium. NoVaMigra is funded by Horizon2020, the EU framework for research and innovation. The project’s main objectives are to provide an understanding of core values/norms in Europe, their current transformation and possible evolution, specifically with regard to migration and the integration of migrants and refugees into European societies. The Swedish team will mainly be working with the task to create a comprehensive picture of value agents and value-related practices in migration and integration contexts in European societies and in the external transmission of European values to potential migrants and refugees coming to Europe.
Duties/responsibilities
The duties consist mainly of an ethnographic regime analysis, which includes interviews with actors on the supra/national and executive bureaucratic level as well as refugees. Collaboration with the surrounding community in the form of material collection and dissemination are also included in the tasks. Teaching in the IMER program may be included. The position also may also include administrative duties at the department, as well as participation in institutional activities.
Qualifications required for this position:
o A Master degree in the area of migration studies or related (candidates with a background in social or cultural anthropology will be preferred)
o Well-documented experience of conducting ethnographic multi-sited fieldwork in Western and non-Western contexts, including key informant interviews in a stakeholder setting
o Experience of working with both vulnerable groups and stakeholders
o Experience in publishing their work on migration in academic outlets
o Fluent in English and Swedish
Additional assets:
o Knowledge on and experience doing research from a gender perspective
o experience of administrative academic tasks (such as organizing conferences, etc.)
o relevant teaching experience
o non-academic work experience related to norms and values
Selection criteria
Assessment of candidates is based on their degree of experience and proficiency with respect to the qualifications listed above. In addition to this, the application should contain the following information:
o A short draft outline of a research plan indicating a contribution to the empirical study of norms and values in migration studies
o A clearly stated letter of motivation for a future research career within the fields of migration studies or social/cultural anthropology

For our GP practice in the well-organised and friendly Schalkwijk Health Centre, we are looking for a POH-S assistant from July 2026 to November 2026 for 24-36 hours a week due to maternity leave.
Who are we?
Our GP practice is located in the Schalkwijk Health Centre in Haarlem. Together with other disciplines, we provide primary care to 13,000 patients. Since 2006, we have been located in a modern building, which also houses a pharmacy, physiotherapy and psychologist and dietician practices, among others. In addition, we have a collaboration with a psychiatrist and an elderly team, including an elderly specialist.
GP care is provided by 6 GP practices, 8 doctor's assistants, 1 doctor's assistant with managerial duties, 5 practice-supporters-somatic and 4 practice-supporters-ggz and 2 practice-supporters- youth.
Schalkwijk Health Centre is a neighbourhood with a multicultural character, which is why the centre makes a special effort to ensure that its staff reflects this.
What we are looking for ?
- Preferably someone who has (almost) completed the POH-S training.
- Has knowledge of the overall care process around DM, COPD, Asthma, and CVRM.
- Preferably familiar with Medicom (HIS).
- Works independently and methodically according to applicable guidelines and protocols.
- Enthusiastic, open in communication and able to work well with our chain partners and the various disciplines in our centre with whom we have low-threshold consultations.
- Someone who enjoys working with a diverse patient population, some of whom are from non-Western migrant backgrounds.

Voor onze huisartsenpraktijk zoeken wij per direct een (of meerdere) praktijkondersteuner(s) huisarts (POH)somatiek & ouderenzorg voor in totaal circa 24 uur per week .
