The position
As a Mechatronics Engineer, you will work alongside your colleagues on the development and realisation of opto-mechanical and mechatronic prototypes and instruments that can be used for and by companies in the Dutch manufacturing industry. Solutions focus primarily on the automation of production and integration with digital product design ('Zero Programming'); and on in-line measurement and control in production processes aimed at 'zero defects' production. You will complement your colleagues' optical and mechanical concepts with your knowledge of sensors and actuators. You have a strong affinity for hardware and can often be found in the lab, where you work on building and testing the systems you have helped to devise. About the company
The group Optomechatronics develops high-end opto-mechanical and mechatronics systems for applications in the semiconductor industry, space instrumentation and big science. About you
What we expect from you - You hold an MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a similar discipline - You have hands-on experience with (3D) robot vision, visualisation and robotics. You are familiar with, amongst other things, ROS, control systems, programming, task and event handling. Knowledge of machine learning is an advantage. - You have an affinity with industrial production - You are proficient in Python, C/C++ and embedded software. - You are enterprising, flexible, a good communicator and have no trouble delivering a good presentation. - You have a good command of both Dutch and English, both spoken and written. - You are creative, endlessly curious about the latest developments, and you are comfortable with the uncertainty that often accompanies the complex scientific and engineering challenges.
