Job Purpose
The Professional Indian Chef will be responsible for the preparation and execution of authentic Indian cuisine while maintaining strict hygiene, consistency, and kitchen efficiency standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and cook authentic North and South Indian dishes
• Maintain consistency in taste, portion size, and presentation
• Manage mise en place and daily kitchen preparation
• Control food cost and minimize wastage
• Ensure HACCP compliance and food safety standards
• Monitor inventory and coordinate raw material requirements
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workspace
• Support menu development and seasonal regional specials
• Work efficiently during peak lunch and dinner service
• Coordinate with service staff for smooth order execution
Required Qualifications
• Proven experience as an Indian Chef (minimum 3–5 years preferred)
• Strong knowledge of Indian spices, gravies, and traditional cooking methods
• Ability to prepare both vegetarian and non-vegetarian Indian dishes
• Experience in tandoor cooking (if applicable)
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP knowledge preferred)
• Ability to work under pressure during peak hours
• Team-oriented and disciplined work approach
Technical Skills
• Indian curry base preparation
• Tandoor operations (if applicable)
• Biryani preparation
• Multi-regional Indian cuisine knowledge
• Portion control
• Kitchen stock management
• Time management during service
Language Skills
• Basic English required
• Additional languages considered an advantage
Contract Details
• Full-time position
• Competitive salary based on experience
• Work schedule: 6 days per week (lunch and dinner service)
