Providing advice and support at the Dementia Line

The Alzheimer Nederland Dementia Line is a helpline specifically for people with dementia and their caregivers. Living with dementia is complicated and constantly presents new challenges. It's helpful to be able to ask an expert your questions, or simply share your story with someone who understands what it's like to live with (someone with) dementia. Besides all the online information exchange options on [website hidden] , a one-on-one conversation remains invaluable. Fortunately, many people know where to find the Dementia Line. They often call with a specific question about their loved one's care, but also to vent, express concerns, or simply talk freely. How you can help Are you a professional in dementia care (for example, as a nurse, case manager, or psychologist) and want to share your knowledge and experience with others in need? Then this challenging volunteer position at the Dementia Line is definitely for you! What you'll do As a volunteer, you'll provide phone advice and tips on managing dementia to caregivers and people with dementia. You're familiar with the activities of Alzheimer Nederland and can refer to other experts as needed. You have broad knowledge of dementia and can share this knowledge with others in a patient and understandable way. You'll be available for 4 hours a week (or 2 x 2 hours) for a phone shift. You have a pleasant phone voice and are fluent in Dutch. You'll work from home and have the opportunity to manage your time flexibly.
