Junior R&D Engineer with process focus to Epishine
Epishine AB
Sweden, Linköping
Do you want to bridge cutting-edge material innovation with real-world production? At Epishine, we are looking for a Junior R&D Engineer who thrives in the intersection between lab and factory - someone who wants to turn new ideas into scalable, robust processes. Join us and help transform breakthrough materials into technologies that can be produced at scale!
About Epishine
Epishine is a Swedish energy impact company, reimagining the capture of light with market leading printed organic solar cells. Our technology captures indoor light to make electronics self-powered, making cables, disposable batteries and unnecessary maintenance a thing of the past. At Epishine, we foster a culture of collaboration, creativity and innovation where we encourage our employees to challenge the status quo and drive innovation. Our company is now growing and we are looking for more driven talents who want to grow and develop together with us! Go to www.epishine.com to read more about Epishine and our vision.
The mission
As a Junior R&D Engineer, you will support the development of our technology by working hands-on in both lab and production-related environments. In the beginning, your focus will be to learn how our materials behave in different settings - supporting experiments, fabricating devices, and helping evaluate their performance.
You will gain exposure to both R&D and production processes, learning how material choices affect real-world manufacturing, and vice versa. Working alongside experienced colleagues, you will gradually build an understanding of how to translate lab results into practical applications.
As you grow in the role, you will take more ownership of projects, support process development initiatives, and contribute to improving production robustness, performance, and cost efficiency.
The role is based 100% on site in our facilities in Linköping where you will collaborate with an international team of R&D Engineers, laboratory assistant, Phd students and other researchers.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a hands-on and analytical engineer who is motivated by connecting theory with practice, and turning ideas into scalable processes. You likely have:
A Master’s degree (or graduating soon) in physics, chemistry, materials science, or a related field
Practical lab experience and an interest in how materials behave in real processes
Strong communication skills and fluency in English
As a person, you are analytical and solution-oriented, with the ability to understand complex systems. You are pragmatic and hands-on, comfortable working both in lab and close to production, with an eager focus on delivering reliable results. Your collaborative and communicative nature enables you to act as a bridge between teams and share insights. You are motivated by seeing your work move beyond the lab, contributing to solutions that can be implemented and scaled.
What do we offer?
At Epishine, we offer the chance to be part of an exciting journey and the opportunity to contribute to a more sustainable planet. Additionally, we offer a secure employment with pension and insurance benefits, yearly wellness allowance and a friendly company culture where collaboration, innovation and sustainability are at our core.
Application procedure
Does this role sound exciting? Then apply today! You can apply for the position until the 19th of April. Starting date is flexible, but we aim for some time before.
Good to know
We use psychometric tests, such as personality and logic assessments, as part of our recruitment process to ensure fairness and objectivity. These tests help us look beyond a CV and understand each candidate’s natural strengths, problem-solving ability, and working style. By using standardized assessments, we create a more equal opportunity for all applicants, reduce bias, and make sure the role is a good match for both the candidate and the team.
