Om arbeidsgiveren:

NTNU - knowledge for a better world

The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) creates knowledge for a better world and solutions that can change everyday life.

Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering

We conduct research and teaching in civil and transportation engineering, technical planning, structural engineering, water and wastewater engineering and hydraulic engineering. Graduates from our programmes become employees – in both the public and private sectors – with a sustainability mindset combined with competitive knowledge and skills. The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering is one of eight departments in the Faculty of Engineering.

Research Coordinator (Academic Officer) to a new, unique organisation - BRIGHT
BRIGHT
Denmark, Kgs. Lyngby
Do you want to impact how we facilitate a mission-based research programme in a university context?

If you have a degree in bioprocess or chemical engineering and wish to play a key-role in establishing a collaborative framework for mission driven activities in a traditional academic university setup, this role could be exactly what you have been looking for.

You will have the opportunity to work closely with research projects without being a researcher yourself. You will expand your skill set in research coordination and operate from a central position of nearly all business-critical decisions, with the opportunity to make a tangible personal impact – for example, on how our Mission Lead teams work.

You will do this in a new type of research organization, where the mission is to combine the very best of academia and industry. By joining the Novo Nordisk Foundation Biotechnology Institute for the Green Transition (BRIGHT) at the Technical University of Denmark, you will play a pivotal role in delivering projects and initiatives that promote sustainability of society and the planet.

You will support researchers who are passionate about sustainability and reducing environmental impact through biomanufacturing. Your coordination support and administrative project management will assist BRIGHT in advancing technologies for developing robust microbial cell factories and scalable bioprocesses that convert CO₂-derived feedstocks into high-volume chemicals (referred to as the ‘BRIGHT Mission 1B programme’). This multi-year, mission-based initiative consists of joint efforts between multiple groups covering the entire innovation pipeline, from metabolic tools and design, strain engineering, process design, fermentation, downstream processing, multi-omics, techno-economic validation, and business development. We aim to establish new industrial routes for essential chemicals in a low-carbon economy through interdisciplinary collaboration.

Coordination, facilitation, and preparation of advanced reports on scientific outputs
At BRIGHT, every research project is designed “with the end in mind” for the knowledge gained. If a project does not have the potential to lead to development of a sustainable bioproduct, it will not be initiated. This is exactly why we aim to bridge academia and industry in a way never seen before —and you will play a key role in turning this vision into reality.

The BRIGHT research program is organized into three missions, each with specific deliverables. Each mission is jointly led by a leadership team consisting of a Technology Lead (professor) and a Business Lead (industry expert/business developer). Each mission includes a number of dedicated research projects.

Your primary focus will be to support the mission leadership team of Mission 1B (aimed at bio-based production of commodity chemicals) and ensure overall alignment across projects. A key part of your role will be to develop and implement a Mission management framework with best practices – developed in close collaboration with the mission leadership team and the Center’s Support Units.

Your primary tasks will be to:
  • Assist mission leadership teams with scientific coordination meetings incl. preparation and follow-up
  • Drive systematic follow-up on management decisions across all projects
  • Gather and prepare materials for decision-making – status reports, data overviews, and similar
  • Prepare advanced reports on scientific outputs from research groups and group leaders
  • Support smooth collaboration with external industry partners – coordination, follow-up, etc.
  • Ensure alignment, identify synergies, and foster cooperation across all three missions
  • Support external fundraising goals to help mission teams identify relevant funding opportunities and prepare robust applications.

You can expect approximately 7- 10 travel days per year to meet partners, attend relevant conferences, and similar activities.

As a result of your integration into the research environment, you will also be the go-to person for general research coordination tasks at BRIGHT, such as nominations for research awards, coordinate scientific seminars, contribute input to BRIGHT’s communication officers on disseminating mission research internally and externally, including filtering of external communications to ensure that beneficial info reaches the relevant researchers.

Master’s degree or PhD with insight into bioprocess or chemical engineering research
In this role, you must have hands-on knowledge of how researchers work and think, enabling you to communicate effectively within a research environment. As a support function, you should naturally thrive in a facilitating and enabling role.

As you will be joining a newly established organisation with a unique mission, you must be comfortable working in a setting without previously established SOPs and templates for everything – your role will be to develop best practices for research coordination and leadership team support. Your function will be coordination and leadership support in an organization operating on the interphase between a traditional university layout and a mission driven set-up. This, combined with your cross-organisational focus, requires strong overview and a highly structured approach to your work. At the same time, you should be pragmatic, solution-oriented, and patient in driving long-term results in a complex environment.

Additionally, your CV includes:
  • A Master’s degree or PhD within a natural science discipline and experience with bioprocess engineering
  • Experience collecting, assessing, and presenting university/research performance KPIs
  • Experience working in a complex stakeholder environment
  • Fluency in written and spoken English (Danish is an advantage but not required)

Your new team
You will work closely together with the Mission 1B Technology Lead and Business Lead. Organisationally, you will be part of the Center’s Strategic Support Organisation. We are 12 dedicated colleagues committed to high standards of service and professionalism. Together, we are responsible for executive management support, fundraising, project administration, finance, people operations, and communications.

Our work environment is friendly and welcoming, and here the word “we” is far more important than “me.” We actively support your individual professional development through coaching, relevant training, task-specific courses, etc..

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC). You are employed as an Academic Officer. In addition, supplements can be negotiated in accordance with DTU’s salary structure for academic staff employed in technical-administrative positions at DTU (AC TAP): https://www.inside.dtu.dk/en/human-resources/during-employment/salary/salary-structures

Starting date is 01-10-2026 (or according to mutual agreement). The position is a full-time position.

Application and contact
Please submit your online application no later than 16 August 2026.
Open the “Apply now” link, fill out the form and attach your application in English as one PDF file containing all materials to be given consideration including CV, cover letter, diploma and if relevant list of publications.

If you would like additional information about the position, please contact Head of Administration, Hanne Varmark, at +45 9351 0658 or Mission 1B Technology Lead, Professor Alex Toftgaard Nielsen at altof@dtu.dk

If you are applying from abroad, you may find useful information on working in Denmark and at DTU at DTU – Moving to Denmark.

All interested candidates irrespective of age, gender, disability, race, religion or ethnic background are encouraged to apply. As DTU works with research in critical technology, which is subject to special rules for security and export control, open-source background checks may be conducted on qualified candidates for the position

Skarp nyhedsjournalist til Defence Nordic (For English, see below)
NORDISKE MEDIER A/S

Frist for ansøgninger er fredag den 6. august 2026.

News-driven journalist for Defence Nordic

Defence Nordic is looking for a talented, energetic and news-driven journalist to help develop a new business media outlet covering the defence and security industry in the Nordic region.

The media outlet has only been live for a few months. But it is growing quickly, and the ambition is clear: Defence Nordic must deliver relevant, sharp and indispensable journalism to decision-makers in and around the Nordic defence industry.

Defence Nordic is part of Nordiske Medier, but unlike our other media outlets, we publish in English and address readers across the Nordic region. Our coverage is both Nordic and international, but our focus is particularly on the most important companies in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland — as well as the international players that cooperate with, buy from or invest in the Nordic industry.

As a journalist at Defence Nordic, you will work with skilled colleagues to identify the most important news, the strongest angles and the most relevant stories for a professional audience. We write with clarity, efficiency and perspective, and we take pride in delivering high-quality content that our readers can use.

The defence industry is undergoing significant development, and there is no shortage of strong stories to pursue. We cover companies, contracts, major tenders, investments, strategy, technology, M&A, financial results, industrial cooperation, exports and international partnerships. We also cover security in a broader sense — for example the protection of critical infrastructure, cyber and dual-use technology.

At Defence Nordic, our approach is both constructive and critical. Our goal is to deliver unique, high-quality journalism every day — journalism that our subscribers cannot do without.

The editorial team currently consists of two journalists, but we also work closely with our Nordic colleagues and freelancers. We prefer the editorial team to remain based, as it is now, at our newsroom in Copenhagen.

About you

You are a skilled journalist who loves finding news and winning the daily news race. You have a strong instinct for a good story, you can work independently with your own angles, and you are a confident interviewer.

You must be able to write confidently and professionally in English. A large part of the work takes place in English, and you must be able to conduct interviews in English with professional sources both inside and outside the Nordic region.

Experience with or knowledge of the defence industry is an advantage, but not a requirement. What matters most is that you are curious, quick to learn and eager to understand an industry that is developing rapidly — and where journalism makes a difference.

You should have the ambition to set the agenda with your journalism. You must be ready to dig when there is something to dig into, and you must be able to explain complex topics in a way that makes them relevant and useful to readers. We are at our best when we go in depth with a story and show a real understanding of the industry we cover.

You are good at finding your own news and developing new angles. You write clearly and vividly, and you know how to sharpen your stories so we do not waste our readers’ time. Experience with business journalism, financial statements, strategy, technology, industry or politically regulated sectors is welcome — but above all, you must have journalistic drive.

Publishing digitally should come naturally to you, and you should be comfortable using newsletters, social media and traffic data actively to get journalism out to readers. Ideally, you think a good day is a day with strong stories, relevant angles and plenty of readers.

Team spirit is important to us. We help each other, share knowledge and stand together in the daily battle for the best stories.

Terms of employment

We offer good terms of employment, with salary and pension in accordance with the relevant collective agreement and your qualifications.

The position is full-time, and you will start after the summer holidays.

If you have any questions about the position as journalist at Defence Nordic, you are welcome to contact Head of News Jesper Tornvig Ludvigsen at jelu@nordiskemedier.dk.

We will be conducting interviews on an ongoing basis. The deadline for applications is Thursday, 6 August 2026.

At Nordiske Medier, we want to reflect the society around us. We therefore encourage everyone — regardless of background and orientation — to apply for the position.

About us

Nordiske Medier is one of Scandinavia’s largest companies within trade and business journalism. The SDU Metaverse Lab is seeking a new colleague to join our team. Our focus is on the interface of technology and people, working across domains to create experiences and technologies that enable people to shape and engage with the future. We seek a new colleague to support the strengths of the lab across all forms of interactive technologies, while unlocking new opportunities to provide societal benefit through cutting-edge technical research.

1 The SDU Metaverse Lab

The Metaverse Lab is an interdisciplinary research, academic, and impact-generating organisation. Unconstrained by disciplines, the Metaverse Lab sees engineers, scientists, designers, artists, and practitioners focusing on creating experiences and technologies that enable people to shape and engage with the future. In the Metaverse Lab, staff and students work together with companies and organisations on projects across disciplines in an environment designed for collaboration and technology transfer. Our research is motivated by a single aim: delivering science and technology for the benefit of society at scale. Within the broad interdisciplinary space of the Metaverse Lab, our work converges on three interconnected themes.

In Human-AI Interaction, we develop AI systems that work with and alongside people - from multi-agent logistics and swarm control in hospital settings to adaptive AI decision-making, affective computing for emotion-aware support systems, and AI-driven game environments including game twins: lightweight interactive counterparts of real-world processes designed to explain complex ideas, lower barriers to entry, and build awareness and resilience.

In Digital and Technical Literacy, we investigate how children, students, and educators can be better prepared for the digital transformation of the labour market - through STEM education programmes, teaching materials for primary and secondary schools, teacher training in emerging technologies, and AI-powered educational tools.

In Health and Wellbeing Technology, we build computational methods that improve how healthcare is delivered and experienced - including AI systems for capturing and structuring clinical conversations, causal AI for medical interventions, and game-based approaches to therapeutics and diagnostics.

Across all three themes, we work closely with industry, healthcare, defence, and public-sector partners to ensure our research translates into real-world impact.

Our faculty leads the Game Development and Learning Technologies Bachelor's degree, as well as the Interactive Technologies and Games MSc programme, working with students, visitors, and our many partner companies and organizations. Our students form the crucial front-end engineering link between back-end engineering and the actual users of information systems, with deep technical expertise and design skills who can ensure systems are useful and impactful - and ready for the future. Our alumni have gone on to share their unique skills and competencies across the Creative Industries and beyond.

The degree comprises a 3-year BSc plus a joint MSc programme with the Software Engineering section at the same institute. At its heart, the programme is a technical software engineering degree, but with a heavy emphasis on front-end design and thinking. The degree covers a diverse range of situations with an emphasis on game design and game development, including AI fundamentals and advanced techniques, VR/XR, web programming, hardware and robotics, learning technologies, and advanced interaction technologies. We place a heavy emphasis on semester projects in teams and integrate these projects directly into our courses. The degree is taught primarily in English. Some courses can be taught in Danish if the lecturer speaks Danish and there are no native-English speaking students in the class in question.

Vandaag:

  • ✅ draait een werkende software dagelijks bij verschillende horecazaken;
  • ✅ zijn meer dan 70 leveranciers aangesloten;
  • ✅ werd onze eerste betalende klant succesvol opgestart;

  • schaalbaarheid;
  • AI-toepassingen;
  • performantie;
  • security;
  • API-integraties;
  • productontwikkeling;
  • toekomstige technische strategie.

  • bouwt graag software die écht gebruikt wordt;
  • neemt ownership;
  • werkt zelfstandig;
  • denkt oplossingsgericht;
  • durft technische beslissingen nemen;
  • wil niet gewoon code schrijven, maar mee bouwen aan een bedrijf;

Wie zoeken we?

Front-end

  • React
  • Next.js
  • TypeScript

Back-end

  • Node.js
  • TypeScript

Databases

  • PostgreSQL
  • SQL

Mooie extra's

  • AI / LLM's
  • Docker
  • Git
  • REST API's
  • AWS / Azure / Vercel
  • CI/CD

Jouw verantwoordelijkheden

  • Ontwikkelen van nieuwe functionaliteiten.
  • Verder uitbouwen van de bestaande software.
  • Ontwerpen en onderhouden van API's.
  • Integreren van externe systemen (POS, leveranciers, ERP...).
  • Implementeren van AI-functionaliteiten.
  • Verbeteren van performantie en schaalbaarheid.
